As confirmed by Guest Relations....

Well folks, no showing of Fantasmic! will be offered weekends this fall.

The Mark Twain will be going to Dry Dock for work on its hull starting September 2nd, and I guess that was enough of an excuse to "save money" and not offer Fantasmic! until Summer of 2004.

That, and Splash Mountain will also be going to rehab from September 2nd thru November 7th (Date always subject to change). And of course the Haunted Mansion will be getting its holiday changeover. So the west side will be fairly quiet this September (Pooh, TSI and the Columbia up and running).

So plan accordingly.

There's a reply in a thread on this board that says that Fantasmic! has been performed several times without the Twain. The characters just perform on the island. WHAT THE HECK? I would almost not see the show without the Twain.

Actually, Fantasmic! is currently being offered daily, and should continue thru September 1st (Labor Day).

On September 2nd, it will go on Hiatus until mid-June of 2004.

What this means is that there will be no performances on weekends in the fall, unlike last year.

I too have seen the show without the Mark Twain, but the most disappointing show ever was when the dragon apparently wasn't working, and Mickey just battled a glittery Maleficent standing atop a 5-story pedestal. She just went up like she normally does, and then stayed there, waved her wand, and the river lit on fire. It was really cheesy. Unfortunately, I've seen it about 3 times that way. I'm sorry, but Fantasmic! is just not a show without the dragon.

that must be very awkward without the dragon... I've never seen any major problems like that. I've only experienced the crocodile and pinocchio not appearing.

First we can't wear white after Labor Day and now this. What's up with Labor Day being such a buzzkill?
