So, I thought I had read a story somewhere a while back about how Walt Disney had previewed the park in Anaheim, a day before it opened, for a boy who had a terminal disease. Even took him on a personal tour of the place.

I've looked for this story, but had no hits on my web search. Dispelling the story or confirming it.

Can you guys help me out here? Is there any truth to this or is it a feel good rumor?

This is the first I heard of it. Sounds to good to be true.

there is a story about a terminally ill child visiting the park during construction and Walt led him on a personal tour and a ride on the train. It is in the Walt Disney: An America Original by Bob Thomas.
