Hi everyone! Hopefully there isn't a thread on this somewhere else (if there is, I couldn't find it...)

Did anyone get tickets for the D23 Off the Map event? I managed to get two, but I think I got really lucky. Message boards on other sites are full of people saying the link went straight from not being there to saying "sold out."

I'm still trying not to get my hopes up that the dinner will be at Club 33, but I'm very excited nonetheless! I've never seen the Dream Suite or Walt's Apartment, so those alone would be worth it for me. Let me know if there are other MPers who will be in attendance :)

There have been rumors that there were only 250 tickets, so I could see it going straight to sold out if you weren't on instantly.

they posted something on Facebook intimating it sold out very quickly and that they had very limited space available. They would maybe do it again later in the year.

I was one of the ones that tried and didn't get in.

Yeah, it went fast. I kept refreshing my browser until the buy tickets link came up but when I clicked on it, it took a long time (maybe a minute) to load. When it finally did, it said "sold out" so I had no chance at all.

Oh well, I'm really hoping they have another one. It was a bad time for me to be spending that much anyway, LOL.

I'm really hoping they have another one also. It's only a few months until our Disney Cruise, so right now is really not the best time to be spending that much money.
I'm sure it will be awesome though! Have a great time!!!!!!!!!

Me and my wife tried. We made sure to get the day of the event off from work, so we could go. We told everyone we were going. I really didn't think it would sell out that fast. I figured with that high of a price it would at least take a while to sale out. I was wrong. I tried at 10:00am got to the sold out page at 10:02. I really hope they have another one.
I wonder if there is a way for them to lock out the people who already went so other people can go. (sorry if that sounds mean, but I think it is fair)
Or perhaps have a random drawing in case some people have to work when the tickets go on sale.(I had to break a few work rules to log in and try to get tickets, luckily nobody noticed.) Give people a few days or a week to sign up if they want to go(one per person) then pick names at random.

Yes, I was able to get us 2 tickets to this, as well as the John Carter Premiere Event! I heard that the Off the Map tickets sold out in 1 minute! The Premiere Event tickets went fast too and they were only $5 each!

My hubby and I are looking forward to it, since we haven't been to Walt's Apartment or the Dream Suite yet. We've been to Club 33 several times before and look forward to having another dinner there, IF that's where it ends up being held. You never know if they consider ""one of the resort’s most unique restaurants" to mean the "Inn Between", or whatever the current name is for the cast member commissary!

Got tickets, so surprised!

Since the rumor is Club 33, I decided to copy their description of the dinner location on the Disney website and the closest thing I got to that was Blue Bayou. The only thing that still makes me wonder if it's somewhere else is because they say drinks included. How does that work with having a liquor license (if that's what they meant by the hint).

Either way, I'm excited to go. I definitely needed a quick mini vacation from work. :)

Hope to see y'all there.

There was a limit of 30 tickets I think. And it says "Off the Map", and Blue Bayou is on the map....

I read on another site that the new DL liquor license allows them to serve liquor if the event is private. So they could inded bring bar setups into the Blue Bayou if it was closed to the general public. Wouldn't that be nice? A great meal in the Blue Bayou complete with wine???

Disneyland has been serving alcohol outside of Club 33 for years. Years.

They just don't do it during normal park operating house.

right - but to danyoung's point they had to get a seperate liquor license for each separate event since the Club 33 license was strictly enforced for Club 33. Now, since it's once license for the resort, the can truck the booze around between events and store it if needed without having to go out and get separate paperwork done. It's just easier now.

Yes, that was my point.

Thanks for the information. True, people have weddings and receptions in the park, so that makes sense.

I look forward to receiving more info as we get closer to the event.

I'm posting this before I go to bed. I hope everyone who was able to get tickets has a great time!

We're curious to find out if it's going to be Club 33 for our meal or somewhere else!! I think if it isn't, a lot of people who are assuming it's going to be there will be disappointed!

How did you like it? Saw the menu, Chef Marcel looks like he did a good job. It was a 3 course Prix Fixe Menu, so considerably smaller than the regular vintners. For those interested -

Hi Mal,
Except for the fact that I had to get up at 6:30 am, so we could make the drive up to DL for the event start at 9 am, everything else was amazing!! We had such a good time and had lots of surprises!

We met over by Guest Services and checked in, were put into groups of about 10 people each and received a copy of our itinerary for the day. We had 3 stops on our list - Lilly Belle train ride, Walt's Apartment tour and Dream Suite tour. The schedule was really well planned, with plenty of time between tours, to make it easy to get to each place without having to rush.

Since I was in my wheelchair and can't climb stairs, we picked up our train ride at the New Orleans Square stop and ended there as well. Our personal CM regaled us with fun stories and info about the train car, as well as about the dioramas the train goes thru in it's journey. Did you know there is an armadillo in the Grand Canyon? I've been going to DL since about 1958, have been on the train countless times and I didn't know that! We also received an actual DL train ticket replica, that he punched for each of us, with a train car-shaped punch.

From there, we went to Main Street, for our tour of Walt's Apartment. There was some sort of miscommunication, so they didn't have the lift available when we got there, so the rest of the group went up for their tour, while my hubby, D23 staffer Laura Sanchez and I waited for them to get the lift brought out and situated backstage. Once they put it in place and got me up to the apartment, we had a private tour of the apartment, for just the 3 of us. While we weren't allowed to take any photos or video in the apartment (they said since it's "backstage", they don't allow it), they did let us take a photo of the group of us and our tour guide CM, Hanni. She was very friendly and informative.

After that, we met the rest of the group for our tour of the Dream Suite. The last time we'd been there, it was the Disney Gallery, where we enjoyed seeing the various art displays and things there, so it was obviously VERY changed since we'd last seen it. We weren't allowed to take any video in the suite, but they did allow us to take photos, so we took lots of them. We would love to have an opportunity to spend the night there, if we ever got the chance. There's so much detail in the rooms and the various "Good Night Kiss" experiences in each were fun to watch!

Once we were done in the suite, we were free to do whatever we wanted, until we needed to meet up again, at 5:45 pm, in front of the Mark Twain, for our escort to our dinner venue and the group photo op. While lots of us had ideas about where dinner would be, Laura and Archivist Becky Cline told us during the day that it would be at The Hungry Bear, so we joked about how they'd recently undergone a refurbishment and that they now had put in place a dress code, that we were given in our pre-event emails.

Once everyone was there, we went on a walk to the location for our group photo op, which turned out to be the Court of the Angels, in New Orleans Square. Once everyone was set, our photographer Heather took several shots of the group of approx. 73 people.

The excitement was building, as we then went to our dinner venue, which turned out to be the destination many of us and been expecting it to be - Club 33!! One of the group rang the bell and we waited until they were ready for us to all come up for dinner. Several people took photos in front of the Club 33 door as we were waiting.

When we arrived upstairs, there were 2 rooms set-up for our group - in the regular dining room and in the hallway that runs from the bar to the regular dining room, where they usually have the lunch buffet. Unfortunately, the Trophy Room was already booked for the night by another group, so those who hadn't been there before weren't able to see the fun things we told them about that were in that room.

When we chose our seats, we had another nice surprise! Along with the required silverware and dishes, each place setting had a Club 33 wine glass, containing several Club 33 dark chocolate mint candies! Each gift was wrapped in a clear cellophane bag and tied with black and purple ribbons.

Dinner was as you posted and the portions with the accompaniments were very big! Laura had told us to eat lightly at lunch and I can't imagine eating more than we did! As it was, I ended up taking nearly all of my short ribs home with me, since I definitely wanted to save room for dessert (my favorite course)! The "Amuse", which normally is to be a one bite meal starter, was much bigger than that and it was very good. The only things I didn't care for in the meal and didn't eat more than a taste of it were the deep fried "Local Asparagus Croquette" which was very odd tasting and an unknown vegetable that came with it, that was basically all texture and no taste. We enjoyed the accompanying wines (I skipped the red), especially the Moscato that came with our dessert!

It was so fun to see the reactions of those who had never been to the Club before and one guy at our table kept saying all thru dinner that he couldn't believe he was actually eating there! Shopping from the display case was a highlight for everyone, tho I had hoped they would've had a Christmas orn still left from Christmas, so I could add it to the others I had from our previous visits.

After dinner, the chef came out to visit with us and posed for photos with everyone who asked him to. When I told him we'd been anxious to see how his short ribs compared to Napa Rose's, we really enjoyed them a lot and I asked him how long he cooks his for, he joked and said he wouldn't tell me, so that way CS wouldn't find out!!

The last surprise of the night, that we received on our way out, was a Club 33 gift bag, filled with Club 33 tissue paper and a matted color photo wrapped in plastic. Laura said she and Becky had looked thru the archives, to find a photo of Walt, that they thought would be appropriate for the event. She said they didn't get frames for the photos, since they figured everyone has their own taste when it comes to frames, but they did want to have it be matted. It was a very rare color photo of Walt in his apartment, smiling and looking out the window towards the train station. It has never been used in any sort of publication, so that was an extra bonus for us.

It was a wonderful event, well planned and executed and we had a great time!!

This years ornament never made it to the case. They gave it as a gift with the Candlelight dinner to all guests, not just the Club member as in past years.

OK, that would explain why there weren't any left. Can you describe what last year's orn looks like?

Some things I forgot to mention in my TR:

When we were making our way into Adventureland at rope drop, I saw Maynard greeting everyone, as we passed the Tiki Room! I said "hi" as we passed and meant to go back there when we had our free time, but I'd forgotten he was there by the time we were done with all of our tours.

One other thing that we received at the dinner that night - at each place setting, was a dated souvenir "D23's Disneyland Off the Map" pamphlet with Tinker Bell on it. Inside it was a fold-out copy of the famous B&W photo of Walt walking thru the castle, along with photos and write-ups about Walt, the Lilly Belle, Walt Disney's Private Apartment, Disneyland Dream Suite and Club 33. Also inside the pamphlet, was a separate sheet copy of the evening's menu, with the wines listed that we received at each course.

During our free time, we had a celeb sighting of Matt Bomer, who among other things plays Neil Caffrey on USA channel's show White Collar, his boyfriend/partner and 2 small kids, when we were making our way into Tomorrowland and onto Buzz Lightyear! What first got my attention was seeing the female CM wearing the plaid costume!

Lastly, in our group during the day and at dinner sitting across from us, we had a mom and daughter who were also from San Diego. As we were talking and waiting to go into Club 33, they mentioned they were going to be playing in the upcoming MouseAdventure, so we had fun talking about our past experiences with playing and telling others in the line about MA.

Here is a pic. I cannot remember if there was Mickey or Walt at the bottom. We have packed them away, since we weren't transporting it for Christmas. Toocherie might be able to describe it better. The globe is about 3-4 inched in diameter/
