Again, Disney copies what others have done.

At one time, Disney had custom rides and unique shows. Now they have off-the-shelf rides, cement slab and pipe rail queues, and shows that mimic what others have been doing for a decade.

I suppose lack of Disney quality could be a dead horse if it were a thing of the past. However, lack of quality is still a daily occurance for Disney, and DCA still sucks. X-Games show is a move in the wrong direction. A low quality band-aid that will only further erode the brand name in the mind of customers.

This might get a few dozen more teens into DCA, and may help ESPN ratings by a point or two, but that is not a good trade off for the long term damage that this type of crud will do to the Disney name. Once, Disney was equated with "the best". Now, it is equated with "anything for a fast buck".

Do they let people in early like they do at Disneyland. I can't imagine not doing this "stunt" for everyone. I for one am going to be there just in case.

I had heard about the jump but I didn't know it would be at 9:00 I got to the gate at 9:15 I was surprised at the line in front of DCA. I went into disneyland. I guess the people that where there saw it through the gate.

I'm not going to get the column about this done until tomorrow, so you can read all about it Thursday.

But, until then, here is a photo (http://www.mpimages.net/dlr/compressed/DCA/Special_Events/X_Games/Metzger-PyroJump-070103-AVP.jpg) of the last jump. (He did it 5 times)

And here is a REALLY funny photo (http://www.mpimages.net/dlr/compressed/DCA/Special_Events/X_Games/BearBite-AVP.jpg) just for laughs.

I just saw a commercial on TV for the X Perience... they do a good job covering up that it's not as graceful as they make it appear. In fact, they must have superimposed the footage on to a DCA background.

That was the coolest thing I had seen there in a long time. It sucked having to watch it through the gates but at least I was able to see it. The show they put on was really great too.

Did anyone who went notice the gentle who was hanging out with Ms. Harris most of the afternoon. He had on a PotC Curse of the Black Pearl hat. I couldn't tell who it was.

Scott.

P.S. I am jealous that you got to see the bridge jump from the other side AVP.
