I have a map and entertainment schedule from last THursday (12/8) but there is no listing of the tree lighting event that happens (or used to happen) on Main St. I seem to recall in years past it was a three part story -and each time they added a bit more. Now maybe its just one interlude - but i want to be able to come to the park and see it without spending the majority of hours around it (sorry - busy schedule lately).

Anyone have the info? greatly appreciated.

Tree lighting last weekend was at 5pm.

The tree lights up shortly after dark--5pm sounds about right. Unfortunately they don't do a production for it. They just dim the lights and have everyone say "Happy Holidays" and light the tree up. The castle lighting, on the other hand, is really awesome to watch. Be sure to stand under a snow maker on Main Street!

This is right when the tree lights up:

We saw the tree lighting/castle lighting last Saturday (12/4) at 7:30 PM. Town Square and Main Street dimmed the lights, the tree was dark, then there was dialog between a grandmother and grandchild, the the lights came on and down came the snow. Is this what you were looking for?

The holiday lighting times vary depending on the day but start at 5. There are different sections of the dialogue, and one part is at 6:30 and and the second is at 7:30 or 5:15 depending on the day. Your best bet would be to ask a CM for the times for the specific day and they can let you know, since it's not listed on the schedule, but the times are in the CM reference guide.

Oh, and it is still 3 interludes on days with longer operating hours and 2 on shorter days.

The showtimes are listed under DL Showtimes at touringplans.com. I didn't have to log in to view it, so I don't think those pages are for subscribers only. Just go to http://touringplans.com/disneyland and click the showtimes link.

Thanks ralfrick. All I have to say to myself is "DUH!"... although I wish this would be in the show schedule handed out at the gates.

Thanks CindyR - this is what I recall from previous years..

I have a post on this topic under Trip Planning, but the best advice I can give you is to check at City Hall during the day. The week we were there, Dec 1-Dec 6, the schedule varied a bit on the weekend, so you can't rely on the schedule to be the same every day.
When we were there, most nights it was:
Tree Lighting 5:00 (the tree's normal, colored lights)
small world Lighting 5:15
Castle Lighting 6:30 and 7:30 (the short little show where the LED lights are lit to music. They lite the tree's LED lights at the same time.)
