Just wondering if anybody knew the sizes in square feet or square miles the parks are... Also, has anybody taken a pedometer on a day at the park to see how far you've walked around the whole day?

Iv never used a pedometer but if i can come across on i will use it on my next trip to the park (im there weekly) You might be able to find some of the scamatics of the parks on Disneylandsource.com.

Disneyland park is about 70 acres or 3,068,000 sq. feet. The parking lot was 100 acres or 4,356,000 sq. feet, so DCA is a bit smaller than that.

We wore a pedometer for a few Sundays in DL only and we walked an average of 8 miles per trip.

Wore a pedometer for 1 day. DL/DCA - 16 attractions - fast pass usage with minimum backtracking - 2 returns to Hojos came to 5.2 miles.

I was prodding around on google, and found a disturbing comparison chart pretaining to this subject somewhat. The salt lake tribune said DL was 85 acres, and WDW had 30,000 acres. At the top it said that the parks were built (orlando 1971) + (anaheim 1957) so, that embellishment of "kwality" makes me frown on it's authority.

Many dvd's like the Disneyland treasure series, and "walt" offer a number in the low 200's, but I believe that includes the backlot and the administration bunker. -dav

I was researching a Reedy Creek management sheet ( facilities maintenance, utilities etc etc ) from WDW. It was saying WDW is so large they have a way they can pump water using the canals from one end of the property to the other to keep flooding from happening during heavy rainstorms.

Well, just because WDW occupies that much acreage doesn't mean that's how big the parks themselves are. There's a lot of swampland between parks and all around.

If i rememebr correclty

Disneyland is 85 acres
DCA is 55 acres
Magic Kingdom in WDW is two and a halve times the size of Disneyland

The whole WDW property is approximately 45 square miles

i rememebr writing this information somewhere i will see if i could find it.

In the automated monorail guide, Disneyland is 35 acres, and DCA is a third larger than the land at 50 acres. It was a 100 acre parking lot and now it is a theme park and a parking lot. As for that mystical area over on Katella and Harbor, that lot is very large. Maybe close to 80 or 100 acres or so.

I'm pretty sure DL is at least 55 acres... possibly up to the aforementioned 85 acres.

Disneyland is definitely LARGER than DCA, not the other way around. I believe 70 and 55 are the numbers.

According the the Coffee Table Book "Over LA" Disneyland is 64 Acres. As for DCA most sources say 55(but does that include the Hotel or is it just the Park itself?)

Is it just me or does Disneyland seem bigger and bigger as the day goes by and just the opposite happens at DCA?
