If you're planning to ring in the New Year at the Disneyland Resort, be sure to bookmark or print out this updated schedule of activities, entertainment and helpful hints:

Park Hours:
Disneyland - 8am - 2am, with "Magic Morning" at 7am for eligible guests.

Disney California Adventure - 10am - 1am.
Parking:
The Mickey and Friends and Toy Story lots will operate on their normal schedule. A special waiting area will be established near the picnic area for guests who require a wheelchair-accessible shuttle back to the Mickey and Friends parking structure at night.

The Downtown Disney parking lot entrances will close at 2 p.m., then reopen at 5 p.m. with a $20 per vehicle parking fee. You can obtain a refund of this parking fee with validation from participating table-service restaurants or from the AMC Theaters. Present your original parking ticket and receipt at the valet booth or Travelex office.

Admission:
Daily Admission: We strongly recommend that visitors pre-purchase their tickets online before arriving at the theme parks, especially if you are only planning to purchase a one-day ticket. The parks are expected to be extremely crowded, and the Resort's first response to overcrowding is to stop selling theme park admission, starting with one-day tickets.

Annual Passholders: All annual passports are blocked out, with the exception of Premium and Premier passports. Block out passes can be purchased for $50 while available.

Gate closures / arrival time / hand stamps / park-hopping: During extremely busy days the Resort will take steps to prevent overcrowding in the theme parks, starting with restricting sales of some types of tickets, and progressing in stages all the way up to physically closing the gates to the parks and denying all entry. We are often asked "what time should I plan to get there," and our best answer is "as early as possible." The later you arrive, the greater your risk of being denied entry into Disneyland and sent instead to Disney California Adventure, or even denied entry altogether to either park.

If you plan to "hop" between parks, make sure to get a hand stamp - even if you are an annual passholder - and confirm BEFORE you leave one park that the other park is still allowing re-entry.
Land and ride closures
Mickey's Toontown will close at 8pm, and will not reopen.

The Disneyland Monorail will be restricted to Disneyland Resort Hotel guests only starting at 9pm.

All Paradise Pier attractions will reopen between the second and third World of Color shows. The Paradise Pier attractions, except California Screamin’, will also reopen after the third World of Color show.
Entertainment

The schedule of "normal" entertainment is available on Disneyland.com and on the in-park entertainment schedule. For the purposes of this report, we're only including special New Year's Eve entertainment.

Disneyland
Hats and horns will be distributed in the Festival Arena beginning at 6 p.m.

"Countdown" locations will be Sleeping Beauty Castle, Tomorrowland Terrace, Rivers of America and the “it’s a small world” mall area.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle area will have a stage with a live DJ, host and appearances by the Disneyland Resort Ambassadors from 9-11:45 p.m., in addition to the midnight countdown

The “it’s a small world” mall area will have a live DJ playing "Top 40" music from 7 p.m.-2 a.m.

Tomorrowland Terrace features live performances by Suburban Legends at 8:10, 10, 11, 11:45 p.m. and 1 a.m.

In New Orleans Square, Lisa Haley & Zydekats will perform along the Rivers of America at 8:10, 10 and 11:45 p.m. A piano player will perform at the French Market at 7, 8, 10 and 11 p.m.

The New Year’s Eve “Fantasy in the Sky” Fireworks will be presented at Midnight.
Disney California Adventure
Hats and horns will be distributed in Condor Flats (by the airplane outside Soarin' Over California) beginning at 6 p.m.

A special "Fountains and Fireworks" countdown show is scheduled just before Midnight, followed by a full performance of World of Color. The Fastpass machines at Grizzly River Run will be configured to allow guests to choose between tickets to the Midnight World of Color show, or an earlier show if they prefer. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at park opening. As always, remember that your theme park ticket or annual passport must be activated at the front entrance in order to obtain Fastpass tickets, which means you won't be able to collect tickets for people who have not yet entered the park.

ElecTRONica 2011, featuring a midnight countdown and fireworks, will operate from 6am - 1am.
