On October 17th my boyfriend of over 6 years proposed in the Magic Kingdom. We purchased the Photopass CD. We got to MK around 9AM and we were taking pictures everywhere on Main Street. He never popped the question so I figured it wasn't happening.

We headed to POTC as our first ride. Funny story:

When my parent's first met him he was dressed as a pirate hanging out of the window of his friend's car, and no it wasn't Halloween. He was just a really strange teenager. When my parent's saw him they made a face and my mother said (word-for-word), "You like THAT?"

Another weird story. The day we were leaving I went to work to teach a 45 minute dance class to all of our competition troupe girls. We are all very close and they were all saying "What if he proposed to you..." One of the girl's said "What if he proposed to you on Pirates of Caribbean?" I started laughing and I said, "Underneath the hairy leg?"

Back to our trip. We are on POTC. It breaks down, and for 25 minutes we were stuck underneath the hairy leg. No joke...I took a picture..

So we went about our day going on Space Mountain, People Mover, Buzz, Haunted Mansion and a few others. I found out later that if he beat me in Buzz he was going to do it there. But I won so he was ticked and didn't do it.

The whole day he was acting really weird. He kept pushing me away from his left side when we were walking. He kept saying he didn't want to hold my right hand. He is weird like that though so I didn't think anything of it.

Around 2:00 he asked if I wanted to wander and take more pictures. I figured why not. We bought the CD.

We walked by the wishing well and he said "Let's look at it" As we were looking at it I said "This is where your cousin got engaged." He was like alright let's go. It turns out he was about to propose there. haha.

We stop for a Photopass picture in front of the castle. The show in front of the castle was going on so there was a lot of chaos. I go to put my bag down and he see him motioning the Photopass guy, but I was like no there is no way.

I go to take a picture with my arms around him and he was so awkward. Here's that picture:

See him reaching in his pocket? hahah!

Well here it is:

He was a nervous wreck. So he looks really silly. He barely asked me to marry him. All he said was "Kristin" and I said "OMG!!! YES!!!!" He's gonna hate that I am showing you these pictures, but I think it is so cute how nervous he is!

Too sweet! Is there a WDW wedding in the plans? Congrats!

11-14-2010, 06:07 PM
Thank you!!!

I just received the wedding information I requested from WDW. As much as we would LOVE to be married in WDW we know it isn't going to happen. Our grandparents wouldn't go and his great grandmother who used to continually remind us that she is staying alive just to see us get married. So how could we do that to her.

I can tell you that I have been so excited to plan my wedding pre-engagement, but now that I have to I don't really want to. I am not pumped like I thought I would be. I just don't like have so many choices. I wish I could just say "We are getting married in WDW!" Boom! I would be done.

Here are a few more photopass pics. There were so many photographers out which was great for different pics!

This picture makes me laugh because the photographer cut me out of it!

He was jealous that he did all of the proposing so a few days later I proposed.

I think his face is funny in this picture but I still love it!

Awwww I love the last one too! We had by far the best luck with PP people and pictures on our DL trip where we got engaged. Maybe it is just the happiness that radiates!

Great pictures. You both make a beautiful couple. Good luck planning your special day.

If you cannot have your wedding at WDW, you can always bring WDW to your wedding!

Congratulations! That is awesome! Still new around here and I feel a little like I am intruding but just couldn't resist adding my voice to the well wishes! For some reason though, I am unable to see the pictures. At any rate, I hope you both are deliriously happy...or some level of insanity and happiness :p.

Thanks! I was thinking about incorporating subtle WDW things into our wedding. I don't know how to though. Any ideas? I don't want people to go there expecting our wedding to by Disney filled. I want it so people are surprised. Like a hidden mickey.

RobotMonkey-Thanks! I don't know why you can't see the pictures? Maybe you have something blocking them? Can you see them on other threads or is it all of MousePad for you?

Congratulations!! Lovely pictures. I totally understand about fearing wedding planning. I got past that by telling my mum to do it all I would just get a dress and turn up on the day. Stress free. Bit unusual I know but she loved it and I was happy to let her do it. You'll be a beautiful bride.

Why didn't I look in this forum sooner? I was actually thinking over the weekend that you hadn't posted your story yet.

You guys look soooo happy, congratulations!

One idea I saw on hidden Mickeys is to do little tiny ones on the cake.

Might be something blocking these in particular. I haven't had any problems viewing any other pics on the threads. I'll have to try again from home (this is from my work PC).

Thank you everyone!!!!

One idea I saw on hidden Mickeys is to do little tiny ones on the cake.

I was thinking of that. All the venues we are looking at have the "custom" wedding cake included. I don't know what custom really means though.

A few more things about our engagement!

Those pins really work! haha! All of the CMs were really excited for us!

When we got to DHS we were waiting around for our Mama Melrose ressie and we walked by TSMM. We were looking at the time and the posted wait was 85 minutes which would bring us 10 minutes before our dining ressie. I suggested that we go look at the wait inside to see how long it was. As we were walking in the CM standing there, Amanda, screamed "Congratulations!" She saw that on our pin it said that day's date. She started jumping all crazy and said "OMG! It happened today! What time? Where?" So we told her it was about 2 hours earlier and she freaked. She said "That's it! You aren't waiting on this line! You are going through the FP line!" So nice of her!!!

At dinner we were asked if we wanted dessert, but we were just too stuffed. Our waitress brought us over 2 glasses of champagne and said that we needed to have champagne the day we got engaged. Our first meal was perfect.

We also got a free water from a stand outside of BTMRR. The CM handed us the water and said "Just Engaged! It's my gift to you!"

Side Note: I was very against kissing that bottle of water, but DF (haha I can say that now!) insisted! He bought me the rock, I can kiss a bottle of water.

So magical and so perfect. I'm really sad our perfect vacation had to end.

Great pics and Congratulations to you both! I saw that hidden Mickey's on the cake thing as well. It was on one of the Travel Channel's Disney Wedding Specials. Good luck with your planning too! That is always a challenge, so when it gets stressfull take a deep breath and pretend you are back at WDW!

Okay...apparently, the work PC was the answer. Now after seeing the pics, I can honestly say great pics! Many blessings on you both, those pics are great!

I asked for hidden Mickey's on our cake, but the bakery refused. I think they thought I wanted a huge Mickey Mouse on the cake. I should have explained it better. We named our tables after Attractions. I wanted to use the ride posters, but that didn't really work out. So, I made them myself with a kit from Michaels just with the names. People thought it was a cute idea and we had fun assigning tables. "Oh this group is totally Haunted Mansion.... etc" Our table was Main St USA (okay, technically not an Attraction- but whatever).

We also played the "Welcome to our Family Time" song when people moved from the cocktail hour to the reception. We played the Phil Collins version though. So, Disneyland people got it, but it wasn't too over the top. Our DJ was a Disney person too. He wanted to get all the guests to circle us and play Circle of Life at the end of the night- but we were like "Um. No." :p

CONGRATULATIONS! I loved the whole story and the pictures. That is really wonderful. Good luck and just enjoy the whole wedding and your lives together.

Okay, I totally want to get married again so I can do this. And I'm still married! Perhaps we could renew our vows and do this. Though DH probably wouldn't buy in. I will somehow find a way to do this at some point!
