Last night, after closing, the DLR removed all mention of the Southern California Annual Pass on all ticket booths, and other signage.

This is an attempt to have more folks buy the Premium and Deluxe AP's, which are now the only two listed for sale.

BUT, the SoCal AP is STILL for sale, but now, you have to "be in the know" and specifically ask for it.

How long until they actually remove it? :(

Darn! Let's hope they still have it by July 4th.

DB - they've also pulled all mention of the pass from the Disneyland.com Web site.

Sneaky little monsters....

Why would they pull out the pass that is their main source of AP profit?

Sneeky, you have to click the little "Southern California Residents" link at the top. :)

The website recently has been making a bigger deal out of the zipcode issue (i.e. having to live in 90000-93599) for socal aps, even though it's still not being enforced at the booth. My guess is, someone decided the signs on the booths should reflect that and decided to hide the socal ap just like me might do with any other socal offer.

Yeah:) :) :) We're half way there to the old days of just one pass.

I was wondering... we live in Nor Cal but have friends in So. Cal - can we use their address? How is this enforced?

QueenofHearts, you should be able to use your own address, many NON SoCal folks have bought a SoCal AP with NO problem.

This is different than the special tickets (like the current 2-day promo), they are strict on the Zip Codes on those offers.

But, there have been no restrictions with the AP, so long as you are willing to accept all the blackout dates.

Is this something we can upgrade to during our visit? - the Disney website says they are $105 which is almost the same price we paid for the 5 day park hoppers! I'm sure we could work around the blackout dates.

If you paid the full $119 for your 543 ticket, you won't be able to upgrade. You can't upgrade to a pass that costs less that what your ticket did.

You have to UPgrade, so you can't get the SoCal, but you could get the Deluxe AP for $46 ($165 - $119).

That would be tempting! Thanks for the tip!!!

As an added note, if there are any seniors (60+) in your party, they get $20 off the Deluxe and Premium APs with proof of age. That means their upgrade is only $26

Is this vaild for just buying a Deluxe/Preimum AP? Not an upgrade?

it should be valid for any kind of AP-related transaction. There's just a senior AP that costs $20 less, it's not a discount code or something. So if you upgrade, buy a new pass, etc. we just click the $20 cheaper pass instead of the usual one.

My mother, on the 43rd anniversary of her 29th birthday ;)
upgraded a 543 to a DlxAp and received the $20 discount.

OBTW - she was delighted the Matterhorn opened again !
Woo Hoo! Go Grams!!

The woman working the ticket booth tried very hard to steer us away from the SoCal AP. When she showed us how many blackout dates there were, we bought the Deluxe and then upgraded to the Premium. At first , the cynic in me worried ithe SoCal AP was a bait and switch, but when I realized that SoCal people can only go less than half of the time, I was glad we had not gone that route.

We were there last Tue and I bought my husband a So Cal pass ( we're from No Cal too) and they said they are only trying to discourage the sales of So. Cal passes to non So Cal residents. I still bought one and the cast member was very nice about it. I thought if you bought a regular pass and on the last day it was valid, you could convert it to an annual pass, even if you had to take a loss (for instance you pay $125 or what ever, for your pass and you want a So cal annual pass for $105, you just take the loss and get your So Cal pass.) Is this information wrong?

Nancy, yes, you are incorrect in the fact that you can take a more expensive ParkHopper/ticket, and use it towards a lessor price AP.

You must UPgrade when you switch to an AP.

You can upgrade any day the pass is valid, in fact many do just that for two reasons.

If you have the special ParkHopper Plus ticket, you don't want to lose your Unlimited FastPass option..

Second, you can attend the park on blackout days with your ParkHopper, then switch to the AP, saving the need to pay for the blackout pass.
