OK, some math wiz out there calculated to see which is bettr...to renue your passport and save $20, or to get a new passport...now its my turn and I dont hava clue!! My old AP ended on Feb 25th, and Ill be foing again on April 8th (I get to see Pooh..Yeay!!)..Anyhoo...should I renue or get a new one?? Which is the better deal?? On one hand, if I renue, then my new expiration date goes back to Feb, but I save all the hassle and time of getting my new pass on the 8th..since Ill be driving about 6 hours that day...ugh...so..any opinions??
I love this board...you guys are so helpful!!

My guess would be to get a new one. The question is is having the extra 6 weeks worth $20 for you??

Math wise if you take your PAP cost of $225 / 365 = $0.62 per day

$0.62 x 42 days = $26

So in essence you are saving $26 by waiting until you go and buy a new one VS renewing and saving $20. And gives you 42 more days to use.

Er... once it's expired you don't get the $20 off anyway, so you might as well renew. To get the discount, you've got to renew up to 30 days before the pass expires. Oh... and if you renew now, it's basically the same as getting a new pass. You'll get a year from the day you renew, not from your original expiration.

Here is the math...

But since you are past the expiration date, you only have one choice, so don't buy your new AP until the first day you want to go to the DLR!
