I got this from another blog I read. Wow? First off, I can't figure out how they would get away with it, and second how stupid and dangerous it is to both the "floater" and everyone around him.

If it's real then presumably the guy clipped his seatbelt closed and then sat on top of it and the CMs weren't paying enough attention (the sensor would just know the seatbelt was buckled, not that was over the lap rather than under it).

But yes, stupid thing to do. Again, assuming it is real, I don't see how that person would have landed gracefully back in his seat.

I could see how you could do this intentionally. Just click the seatbelt in with plenty of slack, then slip out from under while heading up in the elevator. You might also be able to click it in and just sit on top, although I would hope the CM would see that it wasn't fastened around you. Not sure how closely they check. I think it's generally assumed that people aren't dumb enough to intentionally bypass the safety, but never underestimate the average tourist.

Having been on a run where someone did this, I do know how it can be done, I can understand how a CM didn't catch it, but I won't post how it was done. When it is done, the ride is stopped (they have someone viewing for exactly this reason), and the person is usually escorted form the park.

Sadly, people do not think of how their actions can impact others (literally in this case.) When he comes down, he can easily land on the little boy in front of him.

Looks like a Photoshop job to me. I don't remember any of the Tower of Terrors dropping at the moment of the picture being taken. And definitely not to the point where that person would be so high off the seat. Or maybe he's hanging from the ceiling of the elevator. But I don't see how that photo could have passed the CM screening these photos (assuming there's still someone doing this job).

Good point, it looked convincing enough that I didn't even think about that, but now that you mention it, if someone was hitting their head on the ceiling you'd think at least a few other people in the car would notice.

Everyone except the people in the back left row look completely oblivious.

Fake.If there was enough of a drop to leave him in the air,why isn't the gal doing the poor YMCA impression hair flying up? :eyeroll:

Everyone except the people in the back left row look completely oblivious. When it happened with us, no one knew what happened. I was right in front of the person and was oblivious to it. But, the picture was washed out, the ride stopped immediately, and the people involved were removed. Since they were in my party ( ;( ) I do know what happened, but at the moment it was happening, I didn't. As soon as the ride stopped, MDM and I both looked at my younger son and went "WHAT DID YOU DO?????" It wasn't him. And it was because I was so angry, the CM opted to let me handle the situation instead of tossing the kid (wasn't my child, but I was in charge of him....) out of the park.

And, the guy standing in the middle without a seatbelt isn't flying up as well.

Yep, must be fake.

I was on ToT once when the boys in the back row all pulled their t-shirt hems up and over their faces. The photo was great! My son and I tried to buy it but the CM wouldn't sell it because it was "indecent". :| I guess they have to draw the line somewhere.

Good observation! I think it's fake also. There are some REALLY good photoshoppers out there...

If the person jumped up they could get that much air. I don't think it's fake.

I was on that ride on our last trip and it stopped about mid way through all the drops. The door opened and a Cast Member said that the ride was stopped because of something one of the riders did something stupid.

Apparently some 17 year old girl was able to raise both feet above her head while the ride was going. She wanted a "cool" picture I guess. She even demonstrated what she had done in front of all of us waiting on the ride. The cast member told her she was lucky she didn't kick a person in front of her.

After she promised not to do it again the ride started up again and we all got a second ride.

The cast members watch the photos and will stop the ride. In addition they will not post the photo on the TV's for everyone to see afterwords. I think they learned thier lesson with Splash Mountain which was nicknamed Flash Mountain for a little while.

It looks to me like the car was stopped while the pic was taken, and the guy raised himself up and was hanging off of the rafters, to make it look like a weightless thing. Dumb - really really dumb.

i agree, the "flying guy" has the body position of someone hanging from the top screen and pulling his legs up while hanging there. the guy in the white shirt to the right is standing up. hopefully, no one other than those idiots got hurt.

It was posted on another site that ToT has sensors that will stop the ride if it senses movement where there shouldn't be. Birds flying into the cabin have tripped the sensors on occasion.

They take the pictures before you even drop, so either it must be fake or he's hanging from the ceiling.

The main reason I think it's a photoshop is because it would take several 'coincidences' for the picture to exist. First, the idiots have to be idiots...which is not that big a reach but for there to be photographic evidence the CM in charge of pre screening the photos would have had to 'miss' that shot even if they took a photo of the photo at the preview screens but most of those have craptacular quality when posted. It might be the real deal but I'm highly doubtful that it is.

In January, we had an entire car full of extended relatives. One of my teenage cousins decided to flash his chest and we were told the picture was not purchasable because it contained un-Disney like activity.

I have seen this picture flying around since like January I think. I honestly think that if it is a photoshop job then that person needs to come and work for me making $100 bills. To get the background Image perfect, the shadow, everything to be perfect means that the person is an exceptional graphic artist.

Sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know if they still post fake pictures at the exit to Space Mountain? Like the ones where there's aliens in the picture. This topic made me think of that for some reason.
