My friends and I thought it would cool to go to Disneyland before our Prom. Would Disney have a problem with a group of kids wearing tuxes and dresses into the park?

Or has this been done before? (Obviously that sort of attire is expected for Grad Nite, but we will be there from noon till about 4 or 5.)

Actually, that sort of attire "isn't" required for Grad nites any longer.... back in the day (we're talking 70's early 80's) the dress code was very specific and very enforced....from what I understand now, the only "dress code" is basically the same as any other day guest at the park...

As for your idea, no one is going to have a problem with you being all decked out, however, (and I'm going out on a limb here and assuming you are male) the girls in their formals with fancy hairdo's might not fare as well as the guys in tuxes.....but if the girls are up for it then I doubt Disney will care.....Have fun, make memories and TAKE Pictures!

I suppose it's because they don't want any fights between opposing schools or people groups.

I would actually be interested to see what the CMs say on this issue. I've been told that you can't get into the park dressed up in tuxes and fancy dresses... They do have a policy of no adults dressed in costumes and I think they categorize this with that policy.

I have seen many wedding parties in the park before wearing formal attire. I have also seen some regular couples who have been dressed elegently for a day at Disneyland. It's not the most comfortable attire for a visit to the park, but if your group is willing to put up with it I say go for it!

When you say wedding parties, do you mean bridesmaids and groomsmen, too? Or just bride and groom couples? Because to be a bride and groom in the park, you have to have an escort and they usually don't allow parties, unless you're paying the big buck-ollas to have your wedding *in* the park.

A *LOT* of post-prom couples come out to the park. You can prolly pull it off, esp. if it's on a Saturday (see comment about swing dancers)

Why is it that you can't wear school "colors" or "brands"?? I mean isn't the point of grad night to celebrate graduating from your HIGH SCHOOL?? I mean does it really make that much difference if one is wearing a "lions" t-shirt ??

The goal is to not have clothing that would identify you with a particular school. Primarily it is to cut down on altercations between rival schools etc.

And unlike high school, if I go to Disneyland all 'heshed out' (gee, does that date me a wee bit?) in a metal band tee, tight jeans, Vans or boots, and my biker leather, no one is going to accuse me of being a racist...

But it might get me a mention in the 'Disneyland fashion don'ts' thread, though :D heh heh heh...

I have seen both. A wedding party i vividly remember seeing multiple times one day were primarily just going around taking group photos with their own photographer. It was a small group, but nonetheless all were formally dressed. There was no escort with the group from what I could see. It was a couple of years ago however so policy might have changed now that it seems that actual in-park weddings are more frequent.
