I hope this link works as I've never put one on here before. It's a video from a family that won a trip to DL in 1956. DL footage starts at about 19 minutes & the video is about 35 minutes.

I don't know if it will still be available on other days as this site is a "freebie of the day" site. So, if you want to take the time to watch it do it today just in case!

Autotopia with no guide rail, tea cups with no door, cheeseburgers with milk vice soda, wow who woulda thunk?

Cool video of DL !!!

Very cool video thanks for sharing. I loved seeing how it looked like 30 years before my first visit.

Could this be the youngest of the Barstow clan in the film, little Danny?

It was nice to see Universal in there, also.

That was so well done and so much fun to see Disneyland of yesteryear - so many things have changed and so many are just about exactly as they were. I wish I could save it to view every so often - have to show my kids tomorrow, maybe inspire the littler one who's always making his own short films...

Yes it was very cool. I loved to see the surrounding area when they are on the skyway. Orange groves as far as the eye could see. And Knott's Berry Farm too!

Also, the Disneyland News?! When did they stop printing that? I never even knew it existed.

I almost didn't post it because I wasn't sure how long it could be viewed but I'm glad so many of you enjoyed it. Hopefully it can still be seen somewhere else on the net.

That video footage is priceless! What a slice of history: the Americana, flying in the 50s (when First Class sat in the back), old LA and Universal Studios, Knott's!, and - of course - a nascent Disneyland through the eyes of the giddy, prize-winning nuclear family. I love the father's narration as well (forty years later he still remembered all the fun details).

This made my day. 1,000 thanks! :)

Thanks for sharing! That was so neat to see. I feel like going to Disneyland now...I think I will!

I first fast-forwarded to the Disneyland part, then went back and watched from the beginning. The part where they each take a turn reading the notification was hysterical!

Thanks for the post.
