Just upgrade her to Premium.... When are you going?

Upgrading to the next level is always a consideration...

It costs $60 to go up one level, so that is less than 3 upgrades.

Disney does not prorate the upgrade, so it is something to think about, since you will have the same expiration date.

And there is are two BIG benefits for moving up from Deluxe to Premium, the first is free parking, the second is all the extra discounts.

So if it is a one time deal, buy the Blackout pass for $25, otherwise think of moving up.

Here's some advise about renewing as well - and how with the right timing - you can go on a blockout date without paying extra.

As So-Cal passes expire the offer to renew does not currently have any discounts or incentives.

My advise is to let your So-Cal pass expire and do not renew right away. This way when you're ready to 'renew' you'll regain the right to use the full purchase price of your entrance media towards a pass - AND - the full year will start from that date - not the date of your last pass expiration.

ALSO - this means you can go on any day including traditional block=out dates without having to pay extra.

So for example say your pass expires May 2003 - with So -Cal you wouldn't be able to go all of July if you renewed in May 2003 for another year as the entire month is blocked out. Let the pass expire in May 2003- Go one summer day in July - pay the regular ticket price and use that ticket that day - for the So-CAl pass upgrade. Now your pass is good July 2003- July 2003 and u were able to go during the summer and even on a Saturday if you wish without paying a premium.

The only downside is prices might increase from the time your pass expires and the next time you go.

Question, if you buy a blockout ticket, is it good to use as a park hopper?

Yes, you can go to both parks, since all AP's are now 2-park AP's.

Yeah, think of a blockout day ticket as a $25 one-day reprieve from your pass' blockout day. Once you buy it you can do anything you could normally do with your pass for the rest of the day :)
