Hey all, It has been a while since I have been to a Team Center, and for all of you cast members out there,
Has anybody heard any info on the Dates for CAST BLAST? Thanks a lot...

And maybe this year they'll have it on a weekend so I can go.

I was just asking someone about that. I remember last year's Cast Blast was early February and I haven't heard anything about it for this year. It was fun at DCA last year, but I'd like to see what it's like at DL. But to answer your question (finally), no I haven't heard any dates yet.

In case you guys haven't heard yet, the "Cast Connection" insert in this week's Ref Guide announced the dates for Cast Blast as April 15 and 16, with tickets available at the TEAM Centers beginning March 25. Still don't see it listed on the portal though...

Thank's Merlin, like I said, I am a CT, so I don't often go and get a refrence guide (unless I am in the park, which isn't often) Sorry guys, I am already taking someone else:D Take care guys!

Argh! Why do they always have to hold it in the exact middle of the week? I always really want to go, but I never get to :(

For those who were asking, Cast Blast ticket distribution has begun. The event it's self will be held April 15-16.

While I was excited to hear that tickets were available today, my excitement quickly wore off once I got the tickets and read what is in store.

Why the disappointment? This year the main event is being held at Downtown Disney...no fun inside the parks for anyone this year. What makes it even better is that instead of all the free food like there has been in the past we will get a 30% discount at participating locations. In essence we will be paying for our own cast appreciation event. They are offering a free movie ticket for two (subject to availability, valid only 4/15/2003), but that hardly makes up for the fun lost when you are in the park filled entirely with your fellow CMs.

Also, is it really a good idea to have a cast event held in an area that will still be open to guests? If I were a normal day visitor I would be more-than annoyed to find that I can't eat or see a movie because there were a ton of CMs filling the place up. At least the events held in-park were after normal hours so there wasn't any guest inconvenience.

I don't really know if I'll even go or not anymore. If my schedule permits I probably will, but I'm not going to go out of my way to get the day off this year.

Well, in the past it was typically held after-hours in some section of the park. Attractions in the area would be open, there would be free food, popcorn, churros, and beverages. In 2000 they pulled the Mark Twain in front of B Tower and people danced on the Mark Twain while the Fantasmic! lighting was set to “party mode”. We also got a preview of Holiday “Believe…” that year.
