We were riding Splash Mountain a couple of weeks ago and about halfway through the ride (right before the drop onto the roller coaster part of the ride, before it gets psychedelic) we were stopped. Next thing we knew all the lights popped on, we heard an announcement to stay in the log someone was coming to get us, and about 3 minutes later 2 CMs came to our log and escorted us off the ride. We walked along the flume until they took us to a backstage exit (noticing a cigarette butt and empty Pepsi can along the way). They gave our entire party a group FastPass and then sent us on out merry way.

I was interesting to see the backstage stuff and also notice the hidden walkways that you can't really see when the lights are out. But it was equally as creepy to see all the animatronics do their thing without a soundtrack.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience on this ride or any for that matter.

I've been walked off Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, and Mullhuland Madness. It is always interesting getting to see the behinds the scene stuff, but in some cases it is more of a bummer to not get to finish the ride!

Monsters Inc. and Snow White's Scary Adventures...which was pretty lame because when all the lights come on, it kind of ruins the ride being able to see everything :(

Only Indy for me. It was kind of funny to me.

Peter Pan for me and my son. Near the end of the ride (Capn Hook and Croc). we got a pass to ride anytime later in the day.

Space Mountain...twice. the first time they started the ride back just with the lights on, the second time we were walked of the ride

Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin..we had to get walked off the ride. It looks really cheap and cheesy with the lights on

Rocket Rods...we sat in the hot sun for couple of minutes. I remember it felt like hours because it was in the summer. They eventually got the ride moving.

Worst one was at Magic Mountain on the log ride. I had flip flop sandals on and had to cross over from my6 log to another and all the while the ground was way down there, scary

I did about 15 to 30 minutes on Screamin' once just short of the laoding dock, lol

Back when I was a kid, I remember getting stuck on the skyway for quite a long time. For some reason the entire park had a power outage. I remember my grandma was scared to ride it, but I begged, and grandma decided to take me on it. I was quite thrilled to be stuck on the skyway. I remember grandma kept yelling at me to sit still, and I remember thinking how lucky the people in front of us were who were stopped in the Matterhorn, and I remember fantasyland filling with a ton of people who had no attractions to ride. I reminded grandma of this when we went together in 2005, and she described to my adult self the terror she experenced that day. The thing she recalled was that i would not sit still and so we were swinging the entire time.
I wonder what kinds of terror the guests on the submarine ride experienced that day

Also been stuck on HM a couple of times, never had to get out of my "doom buggy" though

Splash mountain right before you take the big plunge my dd and I were so scared. What made it worse it seemed to last forever and once they got it going and we were leaving no comment, no sorry, no fastpass, nothing. Last year we were walked off BTMR. That was no big deal....

I got escorted off of Splash Mountain once, the funny thing was it was right after the drop we just hadn't entered the finale room, we were glad we mostly got to finish the ride! What was kind of creepy was when we went around the front you could see a log just at the very top. I always wonder if there had been people in it. It was the last ride of the evening for us, it stopped right at park closing.

I was stuck on Small World for 45 minutes. It so scarred my brain that I still talk about it in my comedy shows. We begged them to turn the song off, then got totally freaked out watching all the creepy little dolls moving with no sound.

If you'd like to hear the bit, it's on this page about half way down under "Disneyland" - http://roadsideattraction.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=30

Alice last December. We had just gone down the rabbit hole and were right next to an exit so hardly got to see anything except extra Peter Pan ships in the backstage area.
And being stuck on HM is relative as they stop the ride frequently for Handicap access both on and off. I don't consider myself stuck unless they are walking me off that one.:);)

I was on Samll World and it was stuck for a while so I laid down on the seat and watched the bubbles floating overhead. That had to be 5 to 10 years ago. I really do not remember much about being stuck on rides as long as I do not have to exit or like with Screamin it had funny points

I'm jealous I admit, but last trip last year, my son and DH got stuck on the top of the Matterhorn (at night) and they got walked down/thru the mountain. They saw the inside of the Mt and lots of old signage and stuff. The DH said it was the highlight of the trip.

Grad nite in 95 on space we got stopped. This was before the rebuild and The lights came on after we stopped - it looks really scary with the lights on since the beams and clearances look really close...oh and it was dirty down at the ground, I realized if I lost anything on this ride it would be a while before I got it back :~D.

We have also been sent left instead of right on Space, but I knew we would because the guy in front of me was fighting with getting his backpack down to his feet and he was really tall and couldn't get his bar locked down.

Several years ago on Space Mtn with my daughter. Ride stopped, lights came on, and they walked us out. We were able to go right back to the start of the line. I, too, thought it great to be able to see the entire inside with lights on.

About 15 years (or more) ago a co-worker and her family were in DL when a severe thunderstorm rolled in. High winds, heavy rain, hail, lightning. There were people on the tram between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. The tram stopped and the people were taken off on fire truck ladders, right in the midst of the storm.

I asked my friend if she was on it and she replied "Are you serious? You could see the black clouds rolling in. Those people had to be crazy to get on that thing." Didn't explain why the DL folks didn't shut it down before the storm hit.

We got stuck on the Matterhorn a few weeks ago. The ride stopped about halfway down, and there was an announcement for us to stay in our bobsleds until the "Matterhorn Hostess" gave us instructions. It was near dusk, and I got a lot of great pictures. The first Matterhorn Hostess told us castmembers would be along soon to push us down. The second assured us that we'd be pushed down shortly. Ten minutes in, a huge crew of Tyrolean-hatted-and-suspendered castmembers showed up to push us down. They seemed distinctly unenthused, having pushed two bobsleds already, with two more behind us. The ten of them conferred, and it was decided - extremely reluctantly - to walk us down. Our bobslesd had stopped next to an exit, and the castmember gave explicit instructions to the first two people to follow her down the stairs, but said nothing to the rest of us. When she got to the bottom of the stairs (about eight wood steps, like decking), she just waited. There was a heavy split canvas curtain concealing the exit opening, which was painted like speckled rock, and I pushed it apart and followed her down the stairs. The interior of the Matterhorn is much smaller than you'd think - the bulk of the ride is built up from this core, and it was very cool to see the reverse contours of the ride. The castmember was so terrified of walking us out (really nothing, through the curtain, down the steps, follow the taped-off walkway to the exit door on the Tomorrowland side), that I only took one picture. This must be where the famous basketball court is/was, and while there's not enough floor space for a full court, you could easily play a pickup game there. It also seemed to be a place where scaffolding was stored, but we weren't allowed in there long enough to investigate. When we all congregated at the exit door, the castmember used the callbox to ask someone to open it. The most dangerous part? The slippery pine needles on the exterior exit platform. The people in front of us asked if they could ride again, and the castmember told them to go to the front of the line and tell them that castmembers had evacuated them and they'd be permitted to skip the line and ride again. She really seemed nervous about escorting people off the ride, and if there was a protocol about distributing passes, she either didn't know or forgot. We chose not to ride it again (I'm not a big rollercoaster fan), but it was really very interesting and I was delighted to have a glimpse backstage!

My girlfriend and I were stuck in the hallway of the Haunted Mansion.
what was worse that it took a few elevator loads before the CM's figured it out. The hallway was elbow to elbow, and the elevator was full of people too..

It got quite warm in there during our 10 minute wait.

We have been walked off winnie the pooh, and Indiana Jones. Our more interesting one was this past May when we were walked off the Haunted Mansion. It was in the evening, it started and stopped a couple of times and then we were all escorted off. Turns out it was a small earthquake and we didn't feel a thing! We took some pictures but they didn't turn out well.

We had a weird experience on the Alice in Wonderland ride in 1968. About halfway through the ride there was a large room with giant dancing flowers, and the track had a relatively steep uphill section in that room. The track went from one corner of the room up to the opposite corner, but not in a straight line. It had a slight S-curve. When we entered the room, there was a caterpillar there which was stopped and it was full of adults. Apparently it wouldn't go up the incline. We came to a stop behind it. We wondered what would happen for a minute, then the house lights came on and the flowers stopped dancing. I'm pretty sure the music continued the whole time. Two cast members appeared and escorted the adults off the track and out of the room. We thought we might have to be evacuated too, but they let us stay. It was just me, my sister and my Dad in our car. I guess they figured that the vehicle with the adults had malfunctioned or something but that our car was OK. After a minute the house lights went back off and the flowers started dancing again, then the empty caterpillar went on ahead, then after a few seconds we went on and finished the ride normally. I remember feeling disappointed at the time because it was my first time on that attraction and I thought it ruined it for us. But now I appreciate the novelty of it. I believe in the 1983 remodel of Fantasyland they changed the track layout so that there was no steep incline, and the change from lower level to upper level happens more gradually rather than in just one room. In fact I think that large room is not even there any more. When I go on that attraction now I try to figure out where we were when we stopped, but it looks different now. It was about halfway through the ride, though.

Haven't been escorted off, but we were stuck on Pirates for like half an hour, right at the beginning of the jail scene. This was before my sister and I were really old enough to go off on our own - we still had to meet my mom at certain times, and she was calling us going "WHERE ARE YOU" but the reception was horrible and she didn't understand we were stuck.

Another time, at the top of Splash, we were riiiight about to go down the big drop, and it stopped, and we backed up four or five feet. That was weird. And everyone else in the log were first time riders and totally freaking out. There was no announcement or anything, and about five minuets later the ride started back up again..

Peter Pan's Flight last December. A rainstorm blew open an emergency door -the lights came on and the ride stopped in a heartbeat. We were suspended about 20 feet in air for about 25 minutes or so. All I kept thinking was "please don't bring a ladder" (fear of those things for some reason). Castmembers had to physically inspect every room the ride just incase someone made it through the opened door. Then it takes a few minutes to "power cycle" the ride into operation.

We have been stuck on Small World (right at the exit so we just had a short walk along the flume) and California Screamin' (just waited outside the loading dock for about 10 minutes and they got us going again). But the longest one was when our boat on the Jungle Cruise jumped the track. We floated around the hippo pool for quite a while. We had to wait for them to clear out the other boats and then send in the employees to guide the boat back to the track and then put it back on. Interesting experience :-)

Silly me. When I first read this, I thought you were talking about the parking lot tram. Then I realized that you were talking about the Skyway. Duh. ;)

Ah yeah, another time we were on a tram from the parking lot, and it was sooo slooow even after we went around the first corner.. suddenly it stopped, and the intercom guy said we had to transfer to another tram. So another tram pulled up next to it and we all slid over into the next row. The tram we transferred into was definitely a lot faster! :]
