What happens if you are in the stretching room of the Hm and the power goes out before you reach the bottom? I know Disney has it's own backup generators and what not....do you have to wait for it to resume it's descent? Just a thought of how much creepier that would be...

Now you know where they get their ghosts.

I have no real answer for you however and wait for an expert opinion.

Just like any other elevator, either you wait for the power to come back on or the firemen pry the doors open and you jump to the next floor.

Given the height of the doors, there should be a good range where you could go back out through the entry and down out the exit.

Though, unless I'm mistaken, I seem to recall that there is a middle position for the elevator that leads to a CM break area. We got stuck and went through there to get out the back of the Mansion.

Keep in mind that the stretching rooms are not elevators but lifts and work in a different manner than elevators, all they would have to do is use a manual override to lower the room to the unload position and pry the door open from the outside then escort everyone out the exit ramp. The only problem might be if there were scooters/wheelchairs in the group. I don't know how/if they could go up the incline for the exit that usually has the moving walk way.
