My DW has a friend who has been testing the valves for World of Color and has this to report:

"The mist curtain and fire plumbing has been tested. There is stadium seating. They will start to fill the 16 millions gallon lagoon shortly. If Disney has its way, this maybe up and running by the holidays."

He also says that the crews are working as late as they can at night to get this done for the holidays. The workers are asked to stay past 10 p.m. but if even one hotel guest complains about the noise, the work is stopped for the day (night).

Just passing along the info (with that hopes that it happens.)

Seems far fetch, but very cool if it is true! Thanks for the info.

I know that the opening date for the terraced seating area was pushed back until after the first of the year not that long ago, so this would indicate that it's been pushed up again. I could easily see them doing *some* kind of minor water feature during the holidays, maybe something like the Castle lighting ceremony, just to tease the new technology and get people talking about WoC.

I just don't see them starting WoC so far ahead. I don't think they are going to be hurting for attendance this holiday season, and they'd be wasting the potential draw of holding WoC until next Spring.

And now I want to book a DVC villa with a park view so I can watch the overnight testing. :~D

I was listening to Sorcerer radio today and they said the refilling of the lagoon has been pushed out to Feb. Although it's anyones guess right now.

february does not sound right. They want to get WOC running by Spring during the large holiday crowds.

Waiting till february to fill the bay would give them a short window to do programming and test and adjust.

For some reason that sounds like a long time. I'd think they would have multiple supply lines going into the lagoon to fill it in a few days. Although, at three weeks, we're talking over 500 gallons a minute.

Al Lutz is reporting WOC to be open April 24 and is to be a ticketed show. You will have to get a "Showpass" to have room in the viewing area. I guess that's one way to get people into DCA first thing in the morning.

A MousePlanet reader just posted a Twitter photo from today that shows construction crews still working in Paradise Bay, and said it doesn't look like it's being refilled:

Someone told me that it would only be a matter of days that they will start filling it and at 3-4 days it will be halfway full. But who really knows I will wait till it happens :)

Has anyone heard anything new on this event and what I really want to know is what date is the premiere set for??? I know this must be a common question but any input would be great, thank you.

Are you referring to the new show in DCA? The official name is World of Color (not Wonderful), and is scheduled for I believe July of 2010.
