Did the closure dates for the DL trains change from the Oct 5-8th? Now it's showing on the closures for the dates we're there Oct 13 - 17th. Looks like I may have a couple of sad 2 yr olds that have been looking forward to their train rides.

Disneyland's website is still showing the trains down from 10-12 to 10-28. Which one is right? (Please let MP be right! Please let MP be right! I get there on the 17th)

Way To Confusing To Know When They Will Be Down So Just Better Count It Out So You Wont Be Dissapointed If You Go And Its Not In Service!!!

Sorry

I agree. Better to be pleasantly surprised then disappointed.

How disappointing! It must be something fairly large that the entire railroad will be shut down for that long, rather than making some repairs at night and working on an engine or two at a time.

The real downside to not having the train running is how crowded the park tends to get because all the people who use the train to get around the park will be walking. For me, it always seems that the park feels much more crowded without the train.

Everything gets refurbished in Disney parks eventually. New Orleans main kitchen is down for over a year for refurbishment. Snow white and other rides get refurbished. Rivers of America is getting a refurbishment of sorts.

In the old days of railroading they had gandy dancers who would align the tracks because in time tracks can settle and other stuff happens so that the tracks are not the exact width needed for the trains. It is easier to trim the trees around the tracks when the trains are down. Lots of things could be done during that time.

Are we sire the whole DL Railroad is down? I think it's off that the schedule just says "Steam Trains" rather than "Disneyland Railroad"

I feel ya, girl! :( It won't be the same without hearing the train pulling into the Main Street station.

There is some work being done on Splash Mountain that necessitates the workers being inside the tunnel. There's nothing being done on the railroad itself.

Wow, really? Cause Splash Mountain isn't closed during that time.

The work being done probably doesn't necessitate the closure of Splash.

This info came from a trains CM--since it's not his department, he doesn't know exactly what work is being performed in the tunnel--only that the trains can't be running for the work to get done.

I confirmed with DL website that Splash Mtn is not closed.

The stream trains are closed from Oct13th - 28th

When the steam trains aren't running, the railroad isn't running.

And that makes sense, I just thought it was odd that they list the attraction as Disneyland Railroad but list the closure as Steam Trains. Since there are several other trains someone not familiar with the park might not put the two together.
