Hello - I just received the email update from Mousesavers and it talks about probably ticket price increases this weekend. We are planning on going to DL in November (22-25th) and are thinking about getting annual passes for this trip. We did this back in 2005 and bought our passes at the local Dsiney store right before the prices increased and were able to use them at the cheaper price in Nov. But I know there was some restriction about how long you have to use to the tickets before you have to pay the difference to the price increase. Can anyone fill me back in on the rules? It will be 3 years between our DL trips so I know I am out of the loop. (We did get a 12 night WDW trip in summer of 2008 so I wasn't totally deprived during these 3 years). Thank you to anyone who can help me out!

Mindy

Rule of thumb is 3 months, so you might be 'outside' of the window, but I'm sure one of the CM's will be along to help with a more definitive answer.

Actually if you have a Disney Store near you, they sell the "hard" version of the AP Gift Cards, and pretty sure the expiration on the back is early January, 2010.

Also some Grocery Stores sell Disney AP gift cards, so you might want to check there also. (But not sure how they are distributed, you might not find AP Gift Cards if you are not somewhat near Disneyland, but it doesn't hurt to check next time you are at the Grocery Store.)

But the rule is on or before the expiration date printed on the voucher. If it is printed by the ticket machine, or the e-Ticket Print at Home voucher, they can easily change the date when printed.

Does anyone know if the "Armed Forces Salute" 3-day Hopper Companion ticket prices are going up? We're taking one of DD's friends to DL with us in August and I think I'm going to have DH get it this week just incase these go up to.

If they base the price on the cost of a one day hopper there's every reason to believe the price will go up if the rumors are true and prices increase this coming weekend.

I called DL today because I heard AP prices were going up...I was told they weren't going up this weekend but maybe the 1st of the year.

Didn't ask about regular tickets.

Had a chance to see a "Gift Card" AP at a SoCal Grocery Store today, it has an January 4th, 2010 expiration date.

So if you can get the Hard Plastic version of the AP voucher, they will honor it at the price paid so long as you get to Disneyland and redeem it on or before 1/4/10. Based on prior history, if you fail to turn it in, you will get credit for the amount paid for the voucher towards any Ticket Media equal or higher in price than the amount paid for the voucher. (aka you have to pay the increased price after the date on the voucher).

I called DL today because I heard AP prices were going up...I was told they weren't going up this weekend but maybe the 1st of the year.Thats what they said the last 2 years also, and the ticket prices went up Aug 3, 2008 and I think it was Aug 5, 2007. Annual passes always go up during Aug/Sept.

Disneyland hikes prices starting Sunday (http://ocresort.freedomblogging.com/2009/07/31/disneyland-hikes-prices-by-3-starting-sunday/13157/) - OC Register

Single-day visitors to Disneyland Resort theme parks will pay $3 more starting Sunday.
The theme parks are hiking their prices as they have done at least once a year for the past five years. The new cost for a single-day pass will increase to $72 for adults and $62 for kids.
For at least four years, single-park passes to Disneyland or Disney’s California Adventure have gone up by $3 each year.
This time, the price of the annual passes will go up the most — $40 more for the premium pass that allows entrance every day.

Wow that is a big jump. Raising anything by over 10% is usually a no no. I figured it was going to go up by $10 just so they could stay under the $400 mark.

Will Costco also be raising their prices on Sunday for the Annual Passes?

Hiking the price is what keeps Disney special. If they didnt do it we would have another Knott's or Six Flags.

Will Costco also be raising their prices on Sunday for the Annual Passes?

I just called my local Costco and was told that there was no indication of an upcoming price increase. I'm wondering if they bought a set number for a set price and will continue to sell them at that price until they sell out. However, if you are planning on buying one there I probably wouldn't wait to see.

Great. Just great. :|

Are deluxe annual passes being affected too?

MammaSilva

all passes are being affected. This year Disney suits have decided to see just how much those of us who prefer premium passes are willing to pay for the privlege. I have a deluxe pass that I will be upgrading and it will cost me a minimum of $140 to $160 to upgrade to the premium depending on "if" the CM I spoke to a few days ago was giving me accurate information. I'm going into it assuming that it'll cost me $160 and if it's $140 I'll figure I am ahead the $20 and use it for popcorn and dole whips!

The difference is still only 4 black out passes and that's at the current rate...it won't surprise me to see the blackout pass increase to $45 or $50 ... considering it started out at $20 and has increased each year as well.

No....reading that is going to make me appreciate my current AP even more now since I don't know if I'll be able to get one when mine expires. :( I guess I better start saving up now!

WOW! Thats alot for a PAP. I dont know if I would be willing to upgrade now...

Does anyone know if the Co$tco passes are going to be affected? We wont be purchasing ours until Oct 16th:eek:, and with the raise in prices that could be interesting...

Should I call the Co$tco we are going to purchase them from, the one on Harbor in Fullerton or alter. in Garden Grove, to see if they will still be carrying them and if so at the 269$ price?
