We just returned from a fabulous trip to DLR. My fiancee and I are dying to know... What is in the upstairs of the buildings on Main Street or New Orleans square for example? Is it storage? Is it CM break rooms? I know you MP experts will know. Thanks :)

On the Disneyland USA DVD, Tony Baxter says that the Disneyland telephone switchboard and staff are on the second floor of the east side of Main Street...

Storage mostly, and various offices in many of the buildings on Main St and in NOS and other lands.

Most CM breakrooms are in ground level or underground locations, I've heard.

Most of the upstairs in NOS is occupied by Club 33.

... the east side of Main Street...

I've wondered how the orientation of DL is laid out.
Where is "east"?

Q. When I walk through the entrance tunnels, and face Sleeping Beauty Castle beyond Main Street's hub, then what compass direction am I facing?

Main Street runs (almost) north/south, so when you are standing in at the Main Street train station facing the Castle you are facing (almost) north. Here's a satellite view (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Disneyland,+Anaheim,+CA&sll=37.455789,-122.135857&sspn=0.009931,0.022724&ie=UTF8&t=h&ll=33.810701,-117.919092&spn=0.005197,0.011362&z=17); Google Maps always orients with north at the top.

Main Street runs (almost) north/south Almost??

Boy, maybe it's these old eyes, but that street looks to be about as perfectly north-south in orientation as anything I've seen...

A MouseAdventure quest from three or four years ago included use of a compass to move between map points, and while writing and testing it we discovered that Main Street is actually slightly off. I don't recall whether it was NNW-SSE or NNE-SSW though.

Above the Bank is where Audio Central is located. There they control audio for pretty much the entire park (minus of course individual attraction audio).

I remember being in line to get my pass at the back back in December, and I looked up into one of the upstairs windows and saw a "projection" of the castle. It looked like it was being projected from the floor, onto a glass screen or something, so that when you look up, that's what you see. Does this make sense? Anyone else seen it?
