If you had $100 million or so, and were in charge of despersing it to a single area of the DLR, what would it be to? Keep in mind that you would not receive a budget like this for the next 3-5 years or so. So use it wisely!;)

Would you spend it on:

A) Tommorowland
B) New E-Ticket in another area of the park.
C) Fixing Up DCA
D) Revamping Entertainment
E) Other

These are applicable to both parks and DTD where appropriate:

painting, lightbulbs and other cosmetic maintenance and have monies set aside to up-keep these as needed

ride specific costumes and have monies alloted to maintain these costumes

no more costume shopping, re-open the lockers. costumes are checked out at the beginning of the day and returned at the end of shift. CMs would be compensated for 1.5 hours of travel/change time (traveling into the area from the CM lot and getting/changing costumes and traveling back) per shift

costume maintenance and monies alloted to keep costumes in excellent condition

a new parade for DL, along with bringing MSEP back to DL

a new parade for DCA

quality entertainment (shows) and streetmosphere for both parks

new movies for the circle-vision building

new "land specific and DL specific" merchandise, no more of this cheap stuff.

A new and original E ticket

Tear down the gates of DCA and making it a "ticket book park" with free admission

I'd build a "Thunderbirds" attraction inspired by the 1960's "puppet" show. It would go in Tomorrowland, of course.

This attraction would dovetail nicely with my new "Thunderbirds" live action series on Disney Channel. I figure modern digital techniques could pull this off.

The money that subsequently poured in from Thunderbirds toys, video games, Holloween costumes and the inevitable Thunderbirds feature film would go back into the park in the form of way cool E-tickets at DCA.

Sheesh, I really need to get a life...

I'm with you Klutch...:-) Did you know there was a REAL International Rescue based on the TV show??? Yep.

My 100 Million:

The Great Movie Ride UPDATED with the latest FX and covering the ENTIRE 3rd park area. You would LAUNCH at 88 mph from DCA through a tube reminicent of the one in Forbidden Planet.

A 2nd 100 million would be needed of course...but so what...take out of Eisners bonus money bin.

A third 100 Million would be needed to pay off the idiots who want ANOTHER Water park in So. Cal.

First off, I would make everyone working on all the projects sing a non-disclosure aggreement and make sure that no rumors leaked out, I would then proceed to build many attractions (Please note that it may exceed the dollar amount specified, but who cares? It takes money to make money)

I would have an Aladdin Ride, it would actually have two rides, both would be dark rides, one would be a rollercoaster, the other would be a more traditional dark ride, with a flying carpet (using Electro-magnets or some similar technology to actually fly and of course there would be safety mechanisms of some sort in case they failed).

I would turn a portion of Tom Sawyers Island into Bear Country in order to facilitate this, I woudl also move the Hungry Bear Restraunt over to there, of course this would require paving portions of it for rainy days and making sure it is all wheel chair accesable.

I would also bring back America Sings (in Critter Country, where the Hungry bear Restraunt was before i moved it) of course updating it and yes, this would require some major construction around the Winnie the Pooh attraction, but would be possible.

I would install transportation between the two parks for park hoppers, using a form of a sky-ride/peterpan hybrid ride, it's entirely doable. Basically, it would work as a dark ride in DCA, which would be either a stand alone ride or a form of transportation afterwards, depending on the line you chose and of course if your ticket allows park hopping. If you have the transportation side, then after the Dark Ride portion, which would take you trhough a tour of the San Fransisco bay Area and other land marks, this would be located somewhere in the Paradise Pier area, it would take you over DCA via a sky ride type mechanism, basically it would have both the peter pan style mechanism and the sky ride style mechanism, to allow for turning where needed, then before leaving DCA, you would go underground in a tunnel, again using the peter pan style system through another dark ride, possiblly showing the diferent forms of California's transportations and sdescribing them, including some of Disneylands old systems. You would then come up into where the skyride station was in tommorowland and would have a choice of continuing on to the Fantasyland Station or exiting there, if you continued on to the Fantasyland Station, you would take the same route as the old sky risde, using other technologies where needed to get around any new regulations about going through the Matterhorn, if there are indeed any, you would then arrive in Fantasyland (and yes the route to/from Fantasyland and Tommorowland would work as a stand alone attraction as well) you would find ramps and elevators (which go sideways as well as up and down, again this is entirely doable) these would all exit near the fastpass distribution/entrance for the new attraction where the FOF arena currently is, which would be a ride based of off Woody's Roundup from Toy Story 2.

I would install a people mover system from the parking structure to Tommorowland, this would also require installing ticket booths at the parking structure, but it would connect with the existing track and would be updated, so minimal modifications to the track would be needed and it would be far more reliable.

I would of course replace the monorail fleet, it's time.

I would tear out inoventtions, move Disney Animation into it, adding more to it, being back the show "Back to Neverland" as well, in place of Disney Animation, I would put in a look at how movies are made, which would connect via a tunnel and ride mechanisim to a dark ride in the process (which would be the entrance for this new attraction). This dark ride would be where superstar limo is currently located. It would show bits about how a movie is made, and for thos ethat just want the show elements at the end, you would of course be able to just walk into the building like you do now.

I also saw this cool idea on someones website, sorry I can't remember which one and it wouldn't have a movie tie in, but it would go in Fantasyland where the Motorboat Lagoon was, it would actually be two rides, intertrwinded into one sort of, one of which you would be in an airplane, the other you would be in a boat, going along, seeing the same things, sea monsters and what not, both thinking that the other is the enemy, but finding out that you both had the same goal of saving this sea serpent, perhaps the last of his/her kind or what have you....but when he described it, i thought it sounded like a cool ride and fo course he would get input and all nessesary credit, once I foudn the site again....which wouldn't be hard, as he has apparently provided some concept artwork for Disney attractions (though as I recall mostly WDW ones).

Well, there are a few ideas that come to mind right away, you asked, I will post more later as I come up with more.

Oh, also, in light of the Cast Cutters being closed, I would open a Barber Shop on Main Street, train them in the "Disney Look" and make sure that there was enough staff to handle it and make sure that the Resort Cast Members got thier Hair Cuts there or at least met the style requirements. But also have it open to the general public.
I would bring back The Country Bear Playhouse, putting in five theaters, each having a different show, one being The Original Country Bear Jamboree, one being the Country Bear Vacation Hoe Down, two being new shows and one being reserved for Seasonal Shows, like the christmas version, as well as a fourth of july show and many others throughout the year. I know, this is a rip off from WDW, but well, I don't think one out of all of these is that bad.

Ok, told you I'd come up with more:

I would do a new Electric Light Parade, in DL, this time properly using Fiber Optics instead of light bulbs, making it a new parade, with new music, utilising the currently installed Fiber Obtics on Main Street, installing/updating along the whole parade route as needed.

I would also, for the que of my new transportation to/from the parking structure people mover system using the Premere (SP?) Shop.

I would the use the old Circle Vision theater for a new attraction, that would be a cool new thrill ride, in which you would be in a roller coaster, which spins in circles as it goes along the track, both inside and out side, when going through the circlevission theater there would be a circlevission movie playing, adding another element to the show, as well as through a loop, probably based off of Buzz Light Year from Toy Story or some other Space Theme, but it would have its que where Arials Grotto now exists, which would be moved to where the towers are by It's a Small World, with the towers being moved/removed as needed to faciliatate this and the other new attraction in the area and perhaps tying Arials Grotto in with the new attraction in the area.

Star Tours would get a much needed overhaul as well, getting new movies (Each simulator would get it's own movie based on one of the six in the end Star Wars Movies (I am not sure how many simulators there are now, but if need some would eb added, each would also somehow exit to a different location, which would be a gift shop themed to whereever your final destination was) as well as updated robots and such. I would also replace all of those TVs with a giant movie screen and a digital large screen projection.

I would also replace all movie based attractions' projectors that use film with Digital Large Screen Projectors, which would be in a "clean room" with negative pressure, thus almost completely, if not completely eliminating the need for periodic cleaning and prevent the crud that builds up on the projectors, i.e. like on NYE on Soarin Over Califronia.

I would also hire people, whose sole job was to ride one or two attractions each, all day, know those attractions inside and out and report when anythign was wrong, there would be two people per attraction at any given time and they would work 8 hour shifts, then being relieved by new people coming on for the rest of the day, or balance out the shifts as needed, every attraction, including shows would get them, basically, when one goes on lunch, the other one is working and they trade off for breaks and all.

Well, I think that's it for now, but as I said, I am not worried about the budget, it takes money to make money.

Ok, well, I tried to edit my post above, but under the line that says:

Ok, told you I'd come up with more:

I wanted to modify it to read:

I would do a new Electric Light Parade, in DL, this time properly using Fiber Optics instead of light bulbs, making it a new parade, with new music, utilising the currently installed Fiber Obtics on Main Street, installing/updating along the whole parade route as needed. In DCA, I would put in a new year around daytime parade based on events from around California, I would also put in some sort of new night time parade, which would include the use of digital projectorsw, timed to lign up exactly with moving floats, there would be projectors along the entire route, all timed and synced perfectly, so as to seemlesly take over from one another with redunancy systems in place, also woud include Fiber Optics, a short tribute to Light Magic (Basically think Light Magic only 1000 times better, remember there are those of us that did like it in concept at least, in reality it had it's prbolems, most of which this would overcome) There would be theatrical fireworks included in the show in various parts, as well as confetti (I know the cleaning crews will love me....LOL) and various other things, some of it will vary according to the time of the year, like at Christmas time it would have snow and some different projections and music, maybe even changes to the Fiber Optics lighting patterns and such. As for the daytime parade, some of the events would include a Farmers Market, with people throwing home made candy into the crowd all along the route, which would of course be made there on site, a float depicting someone surfing, I would keep the skateboarding float, updating it, perhaps get a couple of the Rose Parade Floats at the begining of each year, after they've been dispalyed of course, so yes, the parade would be constantly changing as well, these are only a very few of them.

In Disneyland I would also add a new parade, geeting rid of Parade of The Stars, this parade would have all sorts of twists in it as well, some would involve water being shot at the audience, some would have Audio Animatronics, basically for the 50th Anniversary I would have a Parade of Disneyland over the Decades, turning some of the more popular ride vessels (i.e. The Subs, The Sky Ride Buckets and others) into floats, possibly even the monorails over the years, just one car from each, depicting the changing monorail, inclduing a replica of one of the then current ones (which I put in place above). Also using replicas of the Old Splash mountain Logs going down a flume on a float, splashing the audience with water, and turnig into the new updated logs (which would be rethemed for the 50th Anniversary as well)

Then continue on at

I would also, for the que of my new transportation to/from the parking structure people mover system using the Premere (SP?) Shop.

As much as DL has many problems, I think we all know that DCA is suffering the most, I would spend all 100 million on making DCA more detailed, fitting the theme better, I know it would take more money than that to fix DCA, (maybe a 500 million or so) but it would be a noticeable start.

I did always like the idea of Disney's America in the old parking lot space.:D

I'd use the money to change Circlevision to "Alien Encounter" (except using Stitch as the monster alien), I'd put the People Mover back (it would go through a gallery showing you what's next for Disneyland) and then I'd update "Star Tours" with an idea I posted on another thread:

IMPERIAL STAR TOURS

Based on the period between "Empire Strikes Back" and "Jedi".

Marquee idea: The happy Star Tours logo has been overshadowed by a large corporate marquee saying, "New! Imperial Star Tours". The building's color scheme would be composed of darker menacing hues.

Queue ideas:

1. When you enter, CM's would be dressed in Imperial Costumes and their demeanor would rival Jafar's snobbery. They would be kind and helpful just not smiling as much.

2. As you walk in, C3-PO and R2 tell us the story of how they were captured and now service the Empire, just not very well. We see them mess things up on occasion.

3. The Calamari men in the booth are now being guarded by Stormtrooper animatronics. The large screen now touts a glorified propaganda piece about a trip to Coruscant to view the Empire's growing might in the universe.

4. The Droid room would be rehabbed to be a section starring Jabba. He has been nicely accommodated in one of the Empire's guest suites. We see a large animatronic Jabba, that really need not move very much, Disney would love that idea, with Bib Fortuna speaking to the guests and Salacious Crumb laughing at guests from time to time...

5. The flashing wall with the droid silouhettes would be his droid torture room.

6. Above we would see baskets on conveyor belts carrying edibles for Jabba's lunch.

7. We are flanked on one side by the Emperor's Royal guard who need not speak but move from time to time.

8. We are escorted to watch the pre-flight film. The film still stars the tea-cup Lady but she has now been given an Empire propaganda script which she is unfamiliar with and doesn't agree with. From time to time she is urged on by a stormtrooper and is joined by an Imperial commander who is monitoring her every word.

9. The safety film is filled with Empire supporting characters: bounty hunters, aliens, guards etc.

10. At the end of the film, she tells us to enjoy your ride despite being political prisoners. She gives us a reassuring wink - a hint for things to come.

The Ride:
11. The Starspeeder now has an animatronic Tie Fighter pilot, all in black from "A New Hope", commanding it.

12. The smaller screen shows a random R2 unit piloting your ship. Seconds into launch, the smaller screen to the right shows R2D2 deactivating the other R2 unit and taking over the flight controls by discarding the other R2 unit.

13. The Tie fighter pilot slumps over after being hit by a laser blast. A pilot appears on the smaller screen saying that the Rebellion has taken the shuttle over and now every one is now asked to participate in a secret mission designed by Princess Leia to locate and destroy a secret Imperial weapon of destruction hidden within the city of Coruscant.

14. The flight continues with a chase by Imperial Tie Fighters, Interceptors and a shuttle. We weave through Coruscant.

15. We become surrounded by the Empire and all seems lost when we are saved by laser blasts from nowhere. The Millenium Falcon, piloted by Chewie, appears and escorts us to a secret launch pad. We destroy the secret base housing an enormous skeletal replica of the Death Star (or another huge Empire weapon) which is not yet finished.

16. We blast into lightspeed to escape. We land to be greeted in the docking bay by a rag tag collection of Rebel supporters who all tell us they couldn't have done it without us etc.

The Exit:

17. Hearing the throne room march from the end of "A New Hope", we exit into a rebel base complete with its gift shop.

My idea for this rehab needs only minor adjustments to the existing ride. No structural rennovations are needed. Jabba would be the only major money factor.

It would keep the ride in line with the sequence of the films.

That's what I'd do.
:)
