A few years ago, I noticed that this Mickey (http://history.amusement-parks.com/users/adamsandy/disney2.htm) in front of the Main Street train station had been replaced with this Mickey (http://lostworld.pair.com/disneyland/trip_reports/nov01/index2.html).

Anybody know why this happened??

Maybe to bring it up to date?

THe old one looked well, old. The new one looks well, more new. :)

I also think it was done because of Mickeys evolution and changes of charcter throughout the year. The older mickey was a bit less enthusiastic and had less detail than the new mickey face icons

Interesting thought about the up-to-date business.

Especially because I've been complaining "nobody can draw Mickey Mouse any more" for years. Note the devolution of the Mickey Mouse Club logo from the 1955 original (yes, I know, "Mickey Mouse Club" goes back to the '20s or something, I mean the original TV show logo) with Mickey's skewed ears, asymmetrical eyebrows and off-center smile to the perfectly-symmetrical baby-faced proportioned little automaton in there now (even in retro-themed "old" images that have actually been redrawn).

Seems to be the same kind of change.

Thanks for the insight.

Hey Tod...thanks for the "links"...I wanted to review Jeff Keller's digital camera reviews...as I was buying one for my hubby dear...(my ex is named Jeff Keller...it's kinda weird to look up a site with that name...:( ).

I know this is off topic...but I just wanted to say thanks.:)

Well another thing to keep in mind is that Mickey is replanted every two or three weeks, this could have been a result of that.
