We were deeply saddened to learn that TDA has laid off one of the best entertainment groups Disney has ever had, the green cast from the Billy Hill show. These amazing performers have provided such energetic, incredible shows on Thursdays and Fridays at the Golden Horseshoe for almost twenty years--and now they are being swept away by budget cuts. Their last show is next Friday. If you get a chance, come by and see them--and while you're at DLR, think about dropping by Guest Relations to let them know we want them back!!!

Where did you hear this? And what is the Green Cast? I know there are different guys in the band on certain days and subs or whatever. I would hope they don't get rid of that show and getting rid of any of those performers would be so stupid! Every time I go to Disneyland, I stop by city hall and leave the best feedback for the Billy Show.

Its been posted a while. The Green Team is John Marshall, John Eaden, John David, and Duane Michaels. John M and Duane are also part of the Gold Team (add Kirk Wall and Dennis Fetchet), which will play Thurs-Sat. John E is part of Laughing Stock, which will probably be at Golden Horseshoe instead of Billys on Tues/Wed. The Blue team will be on Sun/Mon (Kirk, Dennis, Rick, and Anders.) John David is the only one completely out, but they may bring it back at spring break if there is enough demand (so DEMAND!)

Wow, that is just so weird to me. So there's no other way anymore to voice feedback other than city hall at DL? If there's another way please advise. I'd like to do my part. Laughing Stock and the Billy Show are my fave shows at DL.

No. Just no.

Not the green team.

I want to return my pass. There are the only thing we plan our visits around.

This is really sad. I don't really know what the "teams" are, in fact, I always seem to see the same team which means we probably see the show on the same day of the week all the time for some reason!!! We LOVE the Billies and I'm sad to see that they are being cut.

I enjoy the Billies too. I do hope they are back for my vacation in September.

does anyone have pictures of the various teams? I know who Kurt Wall is but is the green team the one with the guy who's a little shorter and has a very expressive face and a great smile? I am really sad too--just sad to see DLR making so many cuts that contribute to the "magic"

Wonder if this will also affect the Miner 49ers in DCA? Don't they use some of the same CMs?

You can see pictures of the different teams here:

The one with the expressive face is John Eaden. We love John David, so we'll be demanding.

Here is a web page with the various teams (http://www.jansworld.net/billy_hill/1_billy_hill_main_page.htm). My understanding the original team was John Marshall (founder), Kirk Wall, Dennis Fetchet, and Evan Marshall. Duane Michaels took over for Evan when he moved on. Then other subs have joined to where they had 3 teams.

We are big Billy fans also! We've seen both teams, I believe.. and do feel they are both very good... but still we don't want any Billy's to go!!

So not the whole show is going? Just a team? Wasn't this in another thread? I always see the Elvis Billy Team. They are still on the schedule in Feb.

I liked all 3 teams. They all offer something a little different. I really enjoyed The Green Team's Christmas show the best this year.

So sad. In Oct. we saw something we thought was Billy Hill but the place was packed and there was an older gentlemen probably in his 60's really tall with white hair playing a blue and white electric guitar! Anyone know what that was??

Here is my 2 cents, if Disney keeps cutting entertainment, people are not going to keep coming because there will be less and less to see that makes it more special than an ordinary amusement park. To me it is kinda a catch 22. Less people=less revenue but if not a lot of people who specifically like just coming sometimes for the various entertainment, i.e my parents, stop coming that too equals less revenue. So let's hope the economy picks up.

LOL--now that I know who is who--I always thought John David was the cutest! (No offense to DangerMouse)

Anyone know what that was??That was most likely John David. He frequently opens the act for the Greens with a guitar solo. Here was the opening for Christmas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWWQo8_zKT4&feature=channel). (One grip, if you are going to film and put something on the web, don't sing along with the instramental...)

Could have been but he was definitely playing a blue and white electric guitar and did not have Hillbilly wear on. I wish I would have taken a picture. They are so talented, I only saw them for the first time in '07.

Kirk Wall as Elvis Billy singing Surrey With the Fringe On Top made my heart go pitter pat and made me swoon every single time. :sigh:

It was "milk" that did it. Every.Time.

You and DangerMouse should start a fan club . . . . .

Friday was the last day for the entire Green team to play together. I got to watch John David's (that very handsome and talented guitar/banjo play) last show with the Billies. (sob) I always plan my trips to the park to make sure that I get to see at least one Green team show and was so very sad and yet thankful that I had the chance to see them one last time and record one more video of John David. The man is amazing.

For more up to date information about the show and the guys checkout Dennis's site http://www.angelfire.com/biz7/wb6uce/area51.html (http://http://www.angelfire.com/biz7/wb6uce/area51.html)

If you want to protest Just write Disneyland directly from www.disneyland.com https://secure-disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/help/contactUs?name=ContactUsPage

So I sent an email and I may write a letter too.It is not just the Billies that are leaving and that is sad. Who knows if I will hear back or not.

You will receive some sort of response from e-mailing Disney usually phrased that we will pass the information along, yada, yada, yada. Hopefully, if enough people write and protest the loss of John David, we could get our Green team back. One can hope:)

We went on our 5th annual trip in Dec & accidentally stumbled upon this show. We just when in to eat & wondered why it was so busy. The show started just before my hubby got back with the food. I can't believe we somehow missed this in the previous 4 years. It was so much fun. It was something that we planned to put on our must do list for every year. I email them too just in case it'll help.

As a full time musician, I hate to hear of anytime live music gets cut. I have always appreciated Disney keeping bands going in the park, since work is drying up everywhere. My times in the park are usually limited to once a year for a couple of days, so I'm not as familiar with the specific groups, but I have seen a version of this show and it was very well done. In fact, I was just at the NAMM show (music convention) around with some of the best musicians in the world, and I have been telling my friends how excellent the Fireman's group was (apologies for not knowing thier name.) Superb musicians. Another thing about live entertainment like this-it is never quite the same twice.
