The two articles from Brady McDonald above are an interview with Tony Baxter, and a scene-by-scene tour of the renovated Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough.

Wow! Sounds like it is going to be great. I like how they are going back to how Walt wanted it, just updating it. I am going to have to find a way to get back there at the end of Jan. I really want to see this along with IASW.

As a little kid, I vaguely remember walking through the castle (unfortunately, we didn't get to go there too many times when I was younger). I do remember it being pretty narrow and spooky at times, though. What memories do you folks out there have of going through the castle?

As a kid my family subscribed to the racer mentality of attacking the park. The goal was to go on as many rides as possible to get the cost per ride as low as you could. So to help balance waiting in lines for the "E" ticket rides, we also would go on the "A" ticket ones. The fastest two were the Sleeping Beauty walkthrough and the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse. We would usually go through each once, though rarely stop to actually look at the dioramas.

One of my co-workers had a fondness for the Aurora/Prince Phillip sculpture (that was, I believe, just outside the walk-through?) I took a picture of a similar one at Disneyland Paris. Since I don't remember where the sculpture is here, I wonder if it will survive the remodel. I thought it was a neat way to link the two parks, which would have gone totally unnoticed in my racer days.

all reports on multiple fan sites have said closer to mid december. Maybe earlier but apparently the work is harder than it seems. Even the boards are still up.

Some soft openings are probably coming soon than mid-December.

One problem is the Alternative viewing room, which is taking longer than expected, and Disney won't "officially" open the attraction until both the traditional staircase version, and the viewing room are ready to go.

But I would start walking by the location next week, you might just get lucky.....

I'll certainly be checking often over the next few days... I'm really hoping to be able to see this again. I know it's not a huge attraction, but it was always something nice and leisurely to do when we were in the area.

I've never seen this before, and I'm going on Dec 16 and 17. I hope I get lucky enough to get to experience this! I haven't been there in about 3 1/2 years and I doubt I'll be back for about that long again.

I just returned to work today and they're working fast and furious to get all of the Classics CM's updated on the Castle procedures. I've heard the opening is now scheduled for Nov. 26. No idea if it will soft open early or not.

We were debating on whether to not to go on Wednesday, it's DS' bday. Now I know we're going! How exciting! I think Mom and I are going to cry we're so happy!

Wednesday is my birthday, too! (Although I suspect I'm a few years older than your DS, lol!)

We're going to try to go Wed. after I finish with work. Here's hoping! (An aside -- Yahoo weather said this morning it's supposed to rain in Anaheim on Wednesday.)

You can't be too much older than him! He's turning 6! (There's another jolly Padder who celebrates his bday that day too! Wonder if he'll come out an identify himself over here!)

I just saw the weather report, I'm still holding out hope though.

We're going to be late for dinner. Had plans to meet family/friends outside the park at 5:30. That or we'll go back after and I'll be up late brineing my bird.
