Last time I was at DCA, they had single riders for Soarin' even though there was no signage (due to the temporary queue). At GRR they had a sign at the exit, with a hand written addition that stated you need to get a pass first. Also, Maliboomer has a single rider line.

At Disneyland, I know that Indy has a single rider program.

What other rides at the two parks have a single rider system???

Also, when I was in line at Soarin, there were plenty of familys and groups get single passes just to try and avoid the wait, it made the single rider line just as long as the regular line. What experences have you had with this program???

The single rider line for Rocket Rods was the only way to go back in the day! Especially when the line was 2+ hours.

Test Track at WDW is another great ride that the single rider line works great on. But thats not at Disneyland so...

I'm pretty sure that Indy is the only ride at DL that currently has single-rider. Rocket Rods used to, but they are gone now. The three rides that you mentioned in DCA are the only ones that have it there as far as I know.

ok heres the scoop on single rider at the Disneyland resort...

Disneyland- Yes of course indy has it and yes Splash Mountain also has the feature.

DCA- you pegged all of the attractions that have single rider lines here.

A good way to figure out if a ride has a single rider line is to think if the ride has the following criteria...
*** 1 or 2 seater rides will not ever have single rider
(ex.- materhorn, autopia, haunted mansion)
***rides that load and dispatch at a VERY fast pace will not have single rider lines
(ex.-Fantasyland dark rides)
***only the most popular attractions will have single rider lines
(ex.- Splash, Indy, pirates,star tours)
***3D and sit down shows will not have single rider
(ex- its tough to be a bug, Honey I shrunk the audience, Tiki room)
***rides with seating of more then 4 in a row or in a car may have single rider
(ex-pirates, star tours)

From all the parks I've been to with single rider lines, I'd say jerjer totally nailed the criteria.

The last time I was at DL and trying Indy's single rider line, it was full of people with disabled passes and other things and didn't move at all in the 20 minutes I stood there... it also didn't go all the way through the exit and across the bridge like I remember it doing in 2001 or so. Anybody know how it's changed?

Space has had it in the past, although I don't think it's always there. I think they do it on really crowded days.

Yes, the single rider line used to use the elevator and go over the top to the other side. Although this was discontinued due to the fact that there were so many disabled people and people in the wheel chairs that there just wasnt enough room to fit everyone in the "waiting area" (if you can call it a designated waiting area) and it was clogging the exit (as it still does but thats besides the point)

Now once you reach the front of the line (disabled and single riders still use the same line or waiting area) single riders are taken to an area right before the elevator where the rope is taken off and you join the regular line just before you begin to climb the stairs. a little longer wait but still beats the 45- 60 min. wait.:D

Sorry, I'm not sure how single rider lines work. Could someone explain this to me please? I'm probably going alone to the parks in June, and this might be really helpful.

OK, there are two rides at Disneyland that offer Single Rider Lines, Indiana Jones and Splash Mountain.

Let's look at Indy first, you go to where the FastPass Return is in front of Indy, and you will see a sign that says something like, Single Riders inquire here. Ask for a Single Rider Pass (Sometimes they are not available), and the CM will give you a piece of paper. You then walk down the exit (yes, against the flow of guests) until you which the unloading area, where you will usually see a line of disabled folks, this line is for both single riders and SAP folks, make sure that when the CM comes by, that they see your Single Rider pass, when they are ready for you, they usually send you thru two elevators to get to the loading platform, where they have a small queue set up. When a jeep is loaded (with rows of 4), and has any seats empty after loading from the main queue, they take the Single Riders to fill up the jeep.

Splash Mountain works about the same way, once again, start at the FastPass return area, sometimes they don't give you a pass, but tell you to just go to the exit, but ask. You then head to the exit, on busy days, they have a line set up outside the exit once again for Single Riders and SAP/disabled folks. This time there are two lines, one for the SAP folks, and one for Single Riders. There is a CM monitoring the lines. When they need more Single Riders, they send some through the actual exit (swimming upstream again) - (if it is a slow day, and the queue is not set up, go straight up the exit). When you get to unloading area, just stand next to the railing on the right side, and wait for a CM to see you, they will then escort you to a bridge that takes you to the loading area, where you wait for empty seats as before, and the CM will assign you to a log with an empty seat. Sometimes you get lucky, and they just throw you on a log, without crossing the bridge.

Over at DCA, it works about the same.

Maliboomer just has a special line, located tothe left of the main entrance, wait in that line until a CM has a empty seat.

GRR only offers theirs on busy days, you get a slip at the FastPass return area, go down the exit, and stay to your right, there will be a small queue.

Mulholland Madness has slips, and the CM will direct you thru the FastPass return lane.

Soarin' gives you a Single Rider Pass at the FastPass return line, and you head down the FastPass return line. This is the one ride where I have found out that usually the FastPass is better than the Single Rider pass.

So going by the new way the Indy single rider line works, you'd stand there for a while with a bunch of other singles and then a CM would let a whole big group over every 15 minutes or so?

I guess that's why the line never moved when I was there, maybe two more minutes would've gotten me a ride on that great attraction. :(

If you are riding alone, you can get a pass that lets you go throught the fast pass line (or whatever the arangements are, just ask a CM). They use it to fill empty seats when they get a party with an odd number.

i think sinlg rider is cool...but i hate how like big parties or big families end up using it and makes the line like an hour though and then sometimes they end up realizing they can't sit togetehr and make a huge fuss and just take up more time! so i say when it comes to groups of more than 4, use the fastpass system instead of going in big groups into the single rider line and end up making a "fastpass" line that makes u wait even longer!

Although you and others may hate it the single rider line is not intended for only people who are alone. It is a line to RIDE SINGLE. taking your hole group of 2, 3 or 15 is completely aloud and is not breaking any rules. all you are doing is giving up your privledge, to pick where you sit and who you sit with. :-)

jerjer, the problem is these groups get to the front of the line, and then ask "can ride together", which hopefully the CM says NO!

But this has happened way too many times, and then cause trouble as they can't send "one" person to fill the seat. I have seen this too many times when I have been a single rider.

I have no problem with those who use the line correctly, but it is kinda like those who abuse the SAP pass, either by lying to get the pass, or not bringing the SAP as one of the folks riding. (It is common to have the actual SAP person sit out the ride, but hand the SAP to others in the group.)

If the group is willing to split up, fine, use the Single Rider, but on the other hand, don't "beg" the CM to allow multiple people from your group to ride the same log/jeep!

Yeah because Fastpass goes in the same line as the regular queue once you get to the cast member at the bottom of the ramp whereas the single rider has to wait in the single rider line until a spot opens up.
