Al said that the media event for TMAOWTP (pooh) is set for OCT 7th. So does this mean that the rid eis finished and they are ready to open? If so, this is VERY early considering it was set to open SPRING of 2003. Or is the media event just to prview the attractyion before it DOES openin SPRING 2003? Anyone?

They never really "officialy" announced the Pooh ride at Disneyland. So I belive this is just a formal announcement that they are infact building this attraction and so on... Just as they did with FFF and Tower.

And, at the media event, they are only displaying the queue and the loading area. Sounds like that's all that is even close finished. I'm sure there is a long ways to go.

There's still work to be done, but the ride system is basically done. They are installing and testing the show effects now.

Ok, lets keep it clean here, this is a family site. No talking about any POOH OPENINGS here. OK?

Is the new pooh ride going to be like the one at WDW? We were at DL this summer, but it was our first time in 24 years. Did they get rid of one of the DL attractions to build Pooh? I noticed that DL still has Mr. Toad...

OK, I realize this is a bit OT, but I saw the thread title and my first reaction was, "Oh, that sounds really naughty." :D

No talking about any POOH OPENINGS here. The phrase does seem a bit, uh, scatological.

Whenever I see a friend wearing a tie bearing the likeness of Milne's silly old bear, I always ask the individual in question how he/she "managed to get Pooh all over" his/her tie. Gets 'em every time.:D

The Country Bear Playhouse was removed and the attractions which has not been named (though we all know it is Pooh) began construction. Mr Toad is still at Disneyland and hopefully will not be leaving anytime soon. I think it will be very similar to the Pooh ride at WDW though I can not confirm.

I've heard on the rumor line that the bouncing Tigger effect has been removed. I sure hope not, because that was a really fun element of the ride in WDW. Only time will tell....

I heard about the bouncing element being removed, but I also heard that they saved it, and it should be part of the attraction (similar to the WDW version).

hahahaha.....at first I didn't really have a reaction to it being titled "Pooh Opening!" because the Pooh ride is a current topic for Disney geeks, like us. Then when I thought of it, and thought how it would be to someone who didn't know what we might be talking about, I laughed out loud!

Well, umm, I'm 15 at heart? Ya, that's it, I'm 15 at heart!

Hangin' out at DL has that effect on me.

BTW- What is the bouncing Tigger Effect? My daughter LOVES Tigger and I'm hoping they keep it.............
