Has anyone been on the Adventures by Disney Backstage Magic tour that includes behind the scenes touring of Disneyland?
We are going in June & was wondering what to expect to see. They are vague on what exactly you will be seeing "behind the scenes".
Can't wait for whatever it is though! :)

While I haven't been on the tour myself, I found a few trip reports online from the very first Backstage Magic Tour. I posted the following on another Disney message board. These trip reports should be helpful for anyone wanting information about the Backstage Magic tour.

The very first ABD: Backstage Magic tour took place a week and a half ago (April 22-27). Over 30 people were part of the inaugural tour and not surprisingly, several trip reports are now online--mostly in the guests' own blog sites or other message boards.

Based on the blogs I've read, the online daily itinerary and description of the tour is pretty much followed to the letter. The main diversion from the itinerary (for this group at least) was a tour of Walt Disney's Barn in Griffith Park. Since the Carolwood Foundation's volunteers staff the Barn, it's only open on a few select days.

The VIP tour portion of DL and DCA sound fairly standard...at least in VIP tour terms. A tour of Walt's Apartment would definitely be the highlight for me. Seeing the Indy ride vehicles up close backstage sounds pretty cool. Then visiting the Roundhouse and Circle D Ranch would probably overload my Disney geek-meter.

If you're interested in reading more...here are the reports/blogs that I've found so far.

Tracey and Scott's Trip Report - http://www.wileenet.com/DisneyTripReports/AbD_BackStageMagic/index.htm
A very detailed report with good photos. Note: the actual ABD tour started on April 22. They arrived to L.A. early and did a pre-tour DL visit as well.

Barbara Nefer's Blog - http://barbnefer.blogspot.com/
Another very detailed and lengthy report, although there are only a couple of photos so far. She posted that she had to pry the camera from her husband today to download their photos, so hopefully more photos will appear soon.

StitchKingdom Blog - http://stitchkingdom.com/blog/ (still in progress)
This tour member has quite a few photos. A close cousin or lookalike of Dan-tasmic's Stitch 2.0 makes an appearance. Note: like Tracey and Scott, this guy arrived in the L.A. area before the start of the ABD tour and did a lot of other backstage-like activities on his own, e.g. the Warner Bros. Studio Tour.

There's at least one more site/blog with a trip report, but I've lost the link. If I find it again, I'll post the link. Happy reading!

Is the backstage magic tour an officially sanctioned "DLR" tour? Where do you sign-up? How much does it cost? Is the Main Street apartment a regular (read: guaranteed) stop?

This sounds like a real treat!

Yes, but it is a multi-day guided vacation, not just a tour of DL.
