Where is "Scopa Towers"

A listener in today's podcast wrote that she was staying at "Scopa Towers". I can find no reference to this term anywhere on the Mouseplanet site. Where is this hotel??? I have heard this term mentioned several times in the past but I am clueless as to what it refers to.

I'm pretty sure it's just Mike's house, at least when he refers to it in the title of his blog on AllEarsNet.

Definitely not a hotel.

I believe it's his FAV resort, and thus, his "home." THERE! Now you're both right!

Actually, the term "Scopa Towers" was first coined by Len Testa back in 2005 when I made quite a few solo trips to WDW and figured since I was traveling solo I'd stay in a value resort. One night on the podcast Len said, "Are you staying at Scopa Towers?" and it stuck.

Pop Century was the newer of the two value resorts so I stayed there. I've stayed there 15 times so far and come January I will spend my 100th night at the resort.

Mike's considering forwarding his mail so he can qualify for Florida residency. ;-) There's no truth to the rumor that part of the Legendary Years buildings will be made into the Scopa Presidential Suite. Yet.

Kinda makes you wish that Disney had some sort of "Frequent Stays" reward program, eh?
