Single Most Memorable Event At DLR?

I'm just curious what your most memorable/favorite memory or event from a Disneyland trip is for you and/or your family?!
I think mine is when I was about 19. I paid for a trip to Disneyland for my brother and I. We stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. It was off season in April as it was my brothers birthday and we were celebrating the fact he was going to graduate from High School in June.
We were stalling and not wanting to leave Disneyland so we got in the line for the Matterhorn. As we exited the ride it was actually about 3 min. after closing time. We headed toward the monorail to ride back to DL hotel and there was an announcement. Someone had rented the park for the night from 6 until midnight. They were inviting anyone left in the park at that time to stay and enjoy it with them!!
Well needless to say we stayed AND enjoyed it more than I can say. There were only about 2500 people in the park. It was fabulous! Then we rode the monorail back to the motel that night and were in the front car with Michael Landon and his family...turned out they had rented the park!! Pretty cool memory!!!!
Now if only I could get to club 33!

That is an amazing memory. That is so nice he would allow other people to stay in the park when he paid for it.

May not sound exciting to all of you, but taking my boys in the fall. The Christmas decorations, the sparkle in their eyes. Seeing them mesmerized by the fireworks and EP! That too me holds a lifetime of memories.

the night we were upgraded the President's Suite at DLH because the Hotel was full (May, 1998)

Having just gotten back from taking my husband to Disneyland for his first visit, I have to say that hearing him scream on Big Thunder Mountain RR is probably my new favorite memory. But the whole trip, really, was something special.

My honeymoon in Disneyland. It couldn't have been any better.... wellll, ok, so if we had stayed at GC perhaps, but otherwise, flawless!

I have a few- and I'm not sure I can pick just one.

1) Dec 2003, my then 5 year old getting picked at the sword in the stone ceremony. It was our last day at the park, a 1/2 day at that. It was the perfect end to a wonderful trip.

2) May 2000 my daughter (22 months) discovery her shadow, while standing in line for HM. It was Mothers day. Her little Minnie ears were casting the cutest shadow and she was tilting her head watching the ears follow.

3) My FIL's first trip was in March 1995, opening of Indy. He was about 65 at the time. He loved the Lion King parade. Every time he would hear the music he would leave us and go sit on main street to watch. He was just in awe over it.

Wow, I have tears in my eyes reading all of these great posts. That is one of the most wonderful things about Disneyland in my mind...the memories, especially with loved ones or friends who have passed away!! On the same trip with my brother when we met Michael Landon, my grandparents came to meet us one day! We of course wanted them to see everything as they had NEVER been to Disneyland! We finally got to Space Mtn. and the line was really short. It was just like the commercials they had last year, "no, scary... not at all...its just fun....come on lets go". We they went with us alright. My Grandpa freaked out and wouldn't go on any more rides after that. Not even the train...poor Grandpa...but Grandma LOVED it!!! We "had" to take her two more times...lol. Thanks Disneyfun for helping me think about that today!!!!

While the Parade of the Stars was somewhat lame, my (then) 10.5 year old daughter and I were in it last summer and had an absolute blast. She was Roger Rabbit's partner, and I was with Donald Duck and did a lot of stuff with that big Noah's Ark balloon.

Sooo many great memories... I guess the ones that stand out the most are the first time I went by myself. I did a lot of people watching and it was great to not spend 10 minutes between each attraction doing the 'what do you want to do now' dance. The other one is the first time we took the two neighborhood kids. They are both passholders and go several times a year, but they think it is really cool to go WITHOUT Mom and Dad.

Wow, how fun, I hope I hear more magical memories...I have a lot of great family memories also! Especially with my daughter and niece!!! A really funny one is when John Lithgow asked her if she wanted his autograph and she said "no thank you!" lol

Timed it so I was in the Skyway going over Fantasyland just at dawn.

The opening weekend of Star Tours. We had a room at the DLH and a "guide" to escort us onto the rides ( I was working for a radio station and we were expected to man the both most of the weekend) so we never had to wait in line and , well it was Star Tours, need I say more.

My favorite memories are of riding on Pirates with my dad each time we went to Disneyland. He and I would always sing along and sprinkle the ride with "Arrrr mateys..." and "Dead men tell no tales..." Even when I was at the surly, "my parents are so embarrassing" stage, I would always forget to be embarrassed and would just enjoy spending time with my dad. We are going in October and even though Pirates won't be open (although I'm still hoping) I'm still looking forward to spending time with my dad.

In my pre-hire days, probably the date I took my ex-girlfriend on because we were SOOO cool to ditch Prom.

Now that I'm working for the man, I think it has to be running the trains back to the backstage round house for the day.
