Parade of Dreams rehearsal photos (SPOILERS!)

These photos are from the 4/19 rehearsal of the Parade of Dreams. DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINKS IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED!

For the record, these photos were taken from outside the park, and not by a cast member. There was a nice, polite little crowd watching the rehearsal, and the cast members completely ignored us.

Since this was a semi-dress rehearsal, several character costumes were... incomplete. I am not presenting the photo of the final (Princess) float because of this.

Lead float

Beauty and the Beast float

Pinocchio float

Little Mermaid float - Ariel section

Little Mermaid float - Ursula section

Alice in Wonderland float - photo 1

Alice in Wonderland float - photo 2

Lion King float - rhino satellite

Lion King float - pride rock

Across the way, DCA held a rehearsal of Block Party Blast. They decided they didn't want an audience, so they put up tents under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Those are some awesome floats. So, I'm assuming it's gonna be a nighttime parade. (Sorry if I have overlooked some well posted information if the answer is more than obvious to everyone else.)

sadly, it seems to be, except for the weekends where there's an additional parade at 4 pm. otherwise, it's listed at 7 pm during the week. i'd much rather be at the 4 pm for pictures sake, but have to work on the scheduling to make it work.

although i'm sure there'd be no problem wth using the flash during the parade.

It can't be all that bad for a parade to be held at night. The floats seem to be well lit with lights that are built into each float. I enjoy the night parades a heck of a lot more than the day parades.

Nice zoom!

I am so excited to see this--it looks georgeous. Were they playing music during the rehearsal?

Thumbs up Great pics!

Even if it is offered both during the day and at night, I got to see it at night. Those photos are really magical looking with the lighting! It looks like a really first class parade!

Yep - they even did a full show stop.

It's sad we'll have to wait until Fall to actually see the parade at night. Once it starts in just 2 weeks, it does not get dark until 7:30-8 o'clock. When the time changes again in October, it'll be dark after 6, so if they have 7:00 showings then, it will be cool to check out the lighting. Looks like thos pics were taken from the Main Gates next to the dog kennel, where if you get just right, you can look under the train tracks and into Town Square and the parade route. Nice pics!

I think the Beauty and the Beast on looks the best so far. And do most floats have an animatronic on them? I know the Beauty and the Beast one does and it looks like the lion king one does too. And how long did the parade go on for?

I was curious about this, as well. The pics are great. And I can't believe that my two favorite movies get floats [B&B, Alice]. I could not be happier. Well, I could ... if they'd finally make a Cheshire Cat character, but I'll be OK. The cards are a cool touch.

We are going in November, right before Thanksgiving. What are the rumors on the Christmas Parade? Will that be during the day? Will they forgo Christmas this year and stick with new one. Could there potentially be 4 parades, fireworks AND Fantasmic running between DCA and DL (Christmas, Parade of Dreams, ELP and Block Party)? I can hear my inner scheduler buzzing with overload. The bigger question, how to keep a 6 year old and almost 3 year old awake past bedtimes to enjoy the shows. Oh, I know and dread the answer, naps in the day and sugar highs at night but which precise method? Chocolate fudge or honey popcorn?

For the life of me I can't figure out where the floats were! I can see the word "Emporium" but the only Emporium I know is by Main Street. I must be missing something!!

My guess is outside the exit gates, through the left tunnel.

What do I win?

Churros are my kids' preferred method.

That's my guess too. The perspective doesn't fit for right tunnel.
