The Simpsons: Springfield, IL . Do you remember ?
Do any other Simpsons fans remember back to the first season when they said the Simpsons reside in Springfield, Illinois ?

I've never been a regular watcher of the Simpsons, but if that was said during the first season, then the people at this page:
http://www.snpp.com/guides/springfield.list.html Would probably like to know about it (and they'll like cry for wasting so much time). |

I'm a major Simpson's fan and I have no recollection of this! I could be mistaken because The Simpsons do have the occasional slip-ups in their "overall" storyline...But their accuracy on these type of things is VERY high.
But I am intrested -JRob

The only proof I have right now is a song from 1990, with Bart Simpson rapping. On the cassette, Bart says he's from " Springfield, Illionois, USA ".
I never got the " which Springfield " jokes that have been made on the show because I remember sometime during the first season, the characters said they lived in Springfield, Illinois. So after no answer and / or multiple answers popped up as jokes, I didn't find them funny. The creators and /or writers of the show decided shortly after that it could be more fun to not give an answer, so they never did again. If I can find some solid evidence, I'll post it here. Also, there's something about the first season that puzzles me. Although I've seen every episode from the first season, I remember a commerical with the family walking through a museum and Bart was gocking at a portrait of a nude woman. Homer covered his eyes and took him away. Then when the family was leaving in the car, Bart shows them the nude portrait ( apparently, he stole it ! ) and Homer hollers. Anyone know which episode this is ? |

Do you remeber the episode where they help Apu get his citizenship? Bart's head covered the part of the map where Lisa was pointing where Springfield was.
I heard they lived in more southern.

MickeyMoose, the fact that you are a Simpson's fan shows your class and taste. There are a couple of Simpson's threads in the depths of the General section. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to bump them up to the top. If you want to look for them, they are probably back a few pages.

Thanks. When ever I see something on TV that the Simpsons have made fun of or parodied....I think of the Simpsons.

Fox is broadcasting all of the baseball playoffs as well as the World Series this year. As a result, they are delaying quite a few of their season premieres until after those are all finished.
I'm guessing that the really late start for Futurama is because it is fairly low rated (I wish more people would discover this hilarious and creative show...) so they would prefer to save it until after the November sweeps are over. -Jeff |

Accourding to TV Guide, Futurama was preempted many times by NFL games on FOX.

Simpsons has been preemted til Nov. 4th
It should be "Treehouse of Horror XII" In “House of Whacks,” a Hal 9000-style home automation computer takes a fancy to Marge, and unfortunately sees fit to dispose of Homer in the process. Next, following a gypsy's curse, Homer becomes Death incarnate as everyone in his presence either dies or mutates in “Curse of the Dummy.” Finally, in “Wiz Kids,” the children are tutored in the fine art of transforming frogs into princes at the Springfield Elementary School for Wizards.
