MouseAdventure Holiday: Reindeer Games

’Twas the month after Epcot, and all through the ’land,
The Padders were stirring, and they had a demand:
“We want an Adventure,” the West-coasters cried;
“All right then, we’ll do one,” the MA staff sighed.

December the 12th it shall be, we declare.
And we hope to see all you Adventurers there.
Holiday-themed? Well of course, ’tis the season;
(quite honestly, we have just wanted a reason).

The name’s “Reindeer Games” and that should be enough
to give you a hint that this won’t be too rough.
A smaller event we are doing this winter;
it’s all we could get to come out of the printer.

We’ll start right at ten at the Paradise Pier
and finish at six at Carnation, or near.
Scoring and prizes will come later on;
we expect rather less than a week ’til they’re done.

At D23 you can register early
(as long as our Internet link isn’t squirrely)
and Monday the 14th September is when
event registration will open again.

Price is per team, it’s just sixty-five bucks;
if you have extra money, buy snacks for the ducks.
You’ll need an admission to Disneyland Park,
so be sure to obtain it before you embark.

And the emcee exclaimed as the teams left their chairs,
“Good luck to all, and be careful out there!”

First: Woohoo!!

Then: AVP, is there any chance the event could sell out during D23 early-registration? If it's getting close, will you send a Twitter alert? I've no desire to attend D23 but if it is the ONLY way to participate in MAH:RG, I'll bite the bullet.

Thanks! For everything!

I'm sure AVP or MovieBoy will confirm, but it is my understanding that only a limited number of slots are being made available to expo attendees. It will not even come close to selling out before general registration opens on Monday.

That is correct. We have a limited number of spaces available for registration at D23 | Expo and we will not sell out the game before Monday. However, historically, MouseAdventure sells out very quickly so be sure you set a reminder!

My doctor will definitely NOT let me fly in December, so the Pride will have to miss this one. Glad you're having a game for everyone who's missing Epcot. We'll be watching for the pictures and results!

December 12 is a Saturday. Seems like it's always on a Sunday. Is it really on a Saturday this time? Our team is excited!

Yes please let us know the registration time. I have an MRI scheduled on Monday morning--have to be at the hospital at 9:00. So I sure hope you are going to say 8:00 or before!

Also, can you shed any light on the Saturday date? My teammates will all have to buy admission to the park. The cost may be prohibitive for a lot of people.

And you mentioned being at both Paradise Pier and Carnation, so that would mean we'd need admission to both parks, right?

There's a Snake in My Boot will be there if it doesn't sell out. We will have a new team member since one of our founding members is in Equador until June 2010.

Anyone know what time registration opens on Monday?

We are ready to have a holiday Adventure!!!

Paradise Pier is the hotel where registration is and part of DCA.So, two park thing is a good question. Will it be in The Park and DCA or just The Park?

Yes, the game date is SATURDAY, December 12.

Registration will open at 8:00AM on MONDAY.

You will only need admission for Disneyland Park. (But the game may have elements around the hotels or Downtown Disney.)

While I'm not excited about paying for the blackout tickets, I'm super excited that my sister will get to go with me! She's usually at college during these, so we will get to do one together! Now, for a team name...

Not that I get to care*, but I'm assuming that's Pacific?

I only have so much vacation, and really want to be with family for Christmas!

But this sounds like a fun event. Kudos for the creative one(s) who came up with the poem!

But the poem says the game starts at 10 at Paradise Pier?!?!

There are certain types of passes that are blacked out for Disneyland on the 12th, but not for California Adventure. So there are probably some teams crossing their fingers that the game will be only in DCA.

Ah, I just realized that you probably meant the Paradise Pier Hotel. Not thinking, too tired from D23.

Funny, I never realized until now that both the land and the hotel have the same name!

Is there a passholders discount for tickets on blackout dates? Is it cheaper to upgrade a pass? How does that work? I've never had to buy an extra ticket before.

I'll start a roll call thread on Monday.

BTW: Chanukah begins the night before this one -- so I might just come with chocolate gelt and a dreidel.
