Magic Kingdom fireworks from Poly Beach?

I've asked this in a few other threads, but have yet to get a response... so I'll start a new one

I am visiting in May, and I'm planning to try out 'Ohana for the first time. Is it true that you can see MK fireworks from the Polynesian Beach? It is my honeymoon, and since I'm not staying at this resort I thought we could still relax on the beach and watch the fireworks instead of fighting the MK crowds. Thoughts?

What time would be best to eat and then go to the beach and watch the fireworks?
