We're heading to DLR in June and about 1/2 of our group are vegetarians so I thought I'd ask you all for help. What are your favorite vegetarian meals/snacks at DL, DCA, and DTD?

Pizza Port in DL has Pizza, salad and Pasta, it's not bad...and you actually have choices
rattatoille at Cafe Orleans. They also have aexcellent salads and of course the pomme frites make a nice appetizer that veggies and carnivores can both enjoy.
Trattoria, there are salads they can make vegetarian, if you eat cheese, there is a Caprese sandwich on pretzel bread which is quite yummy!
You might look at this post. But, if your group is strict vegetarian, the Bengal BBQ does share grills with meats and veggie skewers.
ETA - That post left out Cafe Orleans which also has the 3 Cheese Monte Cristo and a couple salads.
Planning 3 trips at once...
1999 - Coronado Springs (1 night); 2003 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2005 - All Star Music (7 nights); 2007 - POP Century (10 nights); 2008 - DL's Paradise Pier (5 nights); 2009 - POP Century (10 nights); 2010 - Dolphin (2 nights); 2011 - POP Century (7 nights); June 8-18, 2012 - POFQ (10 nights); next trip,June 18-22, 2013 - POFQ (5 nights). If I'm not at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, I'm not really happy.
I believe all of the burgers can be made with veggie paddies, but I suspect they do share the grill.
Thanks everybody!!
Great link Malcon10t, I'll have to print it out. On vacation I'm not going to worry about a shared grill and we all eat cheese and eggs, nobody's gone vegan yet, so it sounds like we'll be in good shape. A lot of these sound really good, I was hoping to find some good options beyond the vegie burger.

Just ate at Cafe Orleans on Sunday. I had the french onion soup (of course, there is cheese) and the ratatouille. Both were quite good. I added a little tabasco to the ratatouille to give it a "kick", which was great. As mentioned, there are vegetarian options almost everywhere, but thought I'd share a little of my experience with specific menu items.
Since I am NOT a vegetarian, I don't think of all the little things, and I also used to recommend the French Onion Soup, which I LOVE. I forgot, it is made with beef broth until someone reminded me here. I never thought about the shared grills, til someone said it wasn't a true option for many as they grill it with the meat products. And someone else pointed out rennet in some products. So, I guess it comes down to just how vegetarian you are.

I've never seen French Onion soup that wasn't made with beef broth.
I lighten up a bit on vacation (such as the shared grill), but it's true soups can be deceiving. A lot of restaurant tortilla and tomato soups actually are made with chicken stock
I always ask.
I really appreciate all the tidbits, because not everyone in the family slacks like I do!

I personally LOVE the new menu at Riverbelle Terrace. There is a wonderful salad and vegetable po' boy that should both fit your bill.
I highly recommend this place.
You can get the Loaded Baked Potato Soup without the bacon if you ask. I'm very partial to New Orleans Cafe.
We often eat at Storyteller's over in the Grand. They have several options on the regular menu plus you can always find several somethings on the buffet line.
I don't think the Blue Bayou option is that great, although if you have your heart set on that restaurant you can get by. Just bear in mind the protein portion is a little low.
So I'm reading my bean feed...
"...since I don’t do drugs, I spend the money that I save on good dried beans." David Lebovitz
I have searched all over for questions on this subject. My daughter and I are veggies, after reading the posts I guess we are more strict than some (or I am, she is 4 and has to eat what I give her).
I'm way bummed that the grilled veggies are out, I'd bet anything that the veggies come off the grill with chunks of animals on them :-(
We will avoid all the soups too - everytime I ask at a resturaunt they use a beef or chicken stock, and there is always the dried chicken fat flavoring.
I've heard there are good options but I'm planning to eat off site for a good main meal each day. Here are some websites I've looked at:

http://www.jonkubis.com/personal/veg...isneyland.html

I don't have my vacation planning binder with me - I have a whole section on eating (can you tell I'm dieting and can't wait to splurge on my trip!).
Hi FixYourPets -- welcome to MP. I think you will find many options at DL that'll work for you. I'm really the only one of the vegetarians in the family that slacks a bit on vacation, the others guys are pretty strict. In WDW last summer we did fine, just as Petesimac mentioned he did. I started the thread because I did find that at WDW there were a few items we stumbled on not knowing about ahead of time. I wanted to find out about those things at DL so we wouldn't miss them. If you are vegans it may be hard to get enough protein without supplementing with your own stuff (my husband always carries some sort of protein/granola bars with him). I think Pete's right that there are a lot more of us out there now and it makes economic sense for them to provide for us.
Thanks again to everyone for all the great ideas!

In DCA Pacific Wharf Cafe they have vegetarian chili in a bread bowl that is excellent. For less-stringent vegetarians, their broccoli cheese soup (made with chicken broth) is amazing.
Ooh I'm so happy to see recent reports that C.O. has the ratatouille!
There's the vegetarian chili and vegetarian gumbo, both in bread bowls, at Pacific Wharf and Royal Street Veranda, respectively. LOVE both of them.
To those recommending the potato soup at Carnation...the stock isn't meat based? Bacon is easy to leave off, but the base is OK?
And, of course, avoid the McD's fries.
And, FYI, that ratatouille is fantastic! I highly, highly recommend it!Originally Posted by HobbitFeet
