Special Events
We are doing a "turn around" from Phoenix on Feb 7/8. It is through the VEA/SEA(Vons and Safeway).
We will get there around 3pm and go into the park. They "kick" us out at 8pm and we re-enter at 9pm till 1am.
Has anyone done this before?
DD did it years ago for Grad night but can she remember!!!
Are the resturaunts open?
If yes, do I need to call for Priority Seating if we want to eat there?
Do any rides close, other than the ones that are being refurbrished?
(yeah Small World rofl!!!).
Thanks!!
Haven't been to DL in almost 3 yrs. planning(maybe) a trip for Oct or Jan 09

I don't know anything about it but was wondering when those tickets are valid? The reason I ask is that we went one time, probably 10 yrs. ago, when it should have been "slow" and it was horribly busy. The reason was that Vons was having a promotion that 1 adult could get 4 kids in free, or something like that, and it was the last weekend. We were totally miserable. You can just imagine what Fantasyland was like
. I would really like to plan a trip but want to avoid any type of promotion like that. I know it is for night time but I'm sure it will still impact crowds.

This is for Vons and Safeway employees.
They are to only allow us in the park from 9-1 and only the MK
We have a bus that will bring us over and it's only $35pp up to 7 people(we have 6 in the family). Don't know yet how many bus's are going.
I know it will be crowded with all the VONS store's in CA.

We almost always do weekend turn around trips from Phoenix. We leave my work at 2PM and then have dinner on Main street and stay until park closing. We then go the next day at park opening and stay as late as we feel like. Sundays we normally go a few hours and hit the road by about 11:00 or 12:00 to drive back to phoenix. the cool thing is going there we have an hour fall back so its like we get there earlier and have an extra hour park time on Friday but coming home we haev an hour go forward and get home later.
Once I left home very early Saturday and came home Sunday but I didnt enjoy that as much since we got there so late Saturday. I have also once gone on a Friday and come home after park close (about 11PM) Saturday but we was so tired driving home we decided a hotel is better to stay at from now on. (The drive is about 5 1/2 to 6 hours each way)

Hi Phillyorg
We do the vea/scea party every year its offered. You don't have to leave the park, normally they herd everyone with a wristband over to the river of america. A special activity is always included. Fantasmic, parade, etc...
We have had Fantasmic in the past even when it was down for refurb (but there is never a guarantee) if Fantasmic is the activity it runs from 8-9 to keep those in the ROA area amused until the park reopens. There are always a few places open to eat but they seem to close from 8-9. If the activity is the parade, it runs later around 10pm.
They sell about 5000 tickets to the event, but we used to share the park with at least one other company. We walked on to every ride with the exception of Autopia, we actually waited over a half hour for it. Also, all of the rides are open, unless down for refurb, there are performers all over the park and characters wandering around, my kids think that is the best part, seeing the characters without waiting in long lines.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
