Wow, Nicholas Cage must be a big Disneyland fan because he was on Main Street an hour ago; Tuesday, August 4 at 11:45 pm. He was kind enough
to allow fans to take pictures for a long time.

I'm always in my own little world at DL.....I probably wouldn't recognize a MAJOR celeb if they were standing next to me in line and asked me for directions!!!!

Wow not to be mean, but whats up with all of the hoopla about celeb's??? I guess growing up seeing them has become no big deal. I truly dont even notice them anymore. They all just look like normal people to me.

    Celebrity sightings...

I saw Nicole Ritchie and her bf Joel Madden, shopping in the Anne Geddes store in Downtown Disney in September 2008.

I really wanted to ask them for autographs, but I was so shaken up and nervous from actually seeing someone famous that we just kind of stared at them and then left. I also didn't think she'd give an autograph anyway, she seems like she might be a bit snotty

Like I said I wasnt trying to seem rude or mean. I am trying to understand the fascination with them. They are really just people like you and I. So I have never been one to care. Can you explain why you have this fascination with them???

Right, but it's also true that seeing a celebrity can be an interesting topic of conversation- even if you don't like the celebrity. It makes good "small talk" if nothing else to say you happened to see someone from TV at the store last week. One of the editors at a local paper recently wrote about meeting Michael Jackson while browsing at a bookstore. The editor isn't a big Jackson fan, but the fact that he happened to meet him once makes an interesting story.

Actually I have had the pleasure of meeting a few people I am huge fans of. I talk to them just like they are normal people. I actually have the cell number for one of them when they come into the country. So I do know what it is like. Just for me I dont care about what they have, or the perks they get. They are human just like you and I. That has been the way that I was raised since I was a kid, to think we are all just human, no matter what our differences, and we should just treat each other like we are the same. Sorry if I seem like I am on a high horse, I dont think I am better than anyone else for how I treat Celebrities, just saying how I am.

Ok, you don't get the fascination. Stay the heck out of the thread then, and don't put people down who do.

I have read the thread start and no where does it say you cannot say that celebrity hunting, photographing, and reporting to boards is silly. I have met in my day or have talked on the phone to celebrities and personally when they are in the parks they are just another person. I agree with you and send you condolence cookies and chocolates. You did nothing wrong and were brave to post your opinon that some others agree with. For that you get a bravery cookie.

Our last trip, we were at the Jungle Cruise. The family in front of us had a plaid. This guy is pointing at them and tells his son to look really hard at them, that they were someone very important because that was the only way you could have a person in plaid with you. I tried to correct him, but he promptly told me I was wrong, so I shut up.

Mal- I bet he didnt know who you were, cause if he did he wouldnt have said that. Where was your plaid at the time when you needed him?!!!!
