Goofy's Kitchen

Hi, all

I'm a newbee here. My first post!!! We are planning to go to DL the week of Nov 27 to Dec 1? Do you think it will be busy that week?

Also, we have boys 10 & 12. Do you recommend Goofy's Kitchen and should we reserve before we go?

Hi, welcome.

The 27th thru the 1st should be a good time to go. You'll be late enough to miss the Thanksgiving crowd and early enough to not hit the peak of the Christmas crowd.

Goofy's Kitchen is a lot of fun. Mine are younger than yours, my oldest being 10. He still gets a kick out of the characters and the characters are pretty good at GK about hamming it up and entertaining both young and old. Are you planning a breakfast or dinner there? Either way, I would make a PS time. If I recall correctly, GK doesn't take walk-up. Somebody may know better but again I would make a PS time even if they did take walk-up.

My kids are 9 and 11 and love Goofy's Kitchen. We have to go AT LEAST once per trip!

I've done Goofy's Kitchen once and the kids loved it so much it was the highlight of the vacation. I also would recommend getting PS. Its easier and saves some time.

I would definitely recommend Goofy's Kitchen for your boys. I'm sure that they will the buffet and the wide variety of food that it offers - there certainly is something for everyone and I know that children get a kick out of having hot dogs for breakfast.

Also, the character interaction is wonderful (at least in my opinion). Every 15-20 minutes or so, all of the characters congregate in the dining area for a "jam session" with the kids - think dancing, singing, and making lots of noise!

I know the chef there, he has really revamped the menu. I haven't eaten there since then, but it sounds great. The last time I ate there was at it old location before they tore it down to make way for Down town Disney. And it was good then, and gotten better from what I understand.

We'll be there at the same time and we have ps at Goofy's. You will need them. This will actually be our first time for breakfast there and we're all pretty excited - my son is 10. This is the week that we go every year, and crowds are relatively low until Friday due to the Candlelight Processional weekend. The resort is beautiful at this time of year, and I know you'll have a really special time. Make sure you check out Santa's Reindeer Round-Up.

Goofy's Kitchen is a blast - my kids clamor for a visit every time we go to DL. The food is pretty good - certainly enough variety to please everyone, and the characters are really good about making the rounds to all tables.

Although I'm sure it's BEST to have PS, we have almost always done breakfast there on a walk-in basis, and have never had to wait very long. There's even a video room for kids to watch Disney cartoons while you wait for your table. I guess my point is, if you really want to go and don't have PS, don't let that rule it out for you.

We went with 3 girls age 10,11 & 14. We did not make reservations( went end of Sept.), we did the dinner first & the girls loved the food & the characters then on our last day we decided to do the breakfast/brunch & they got pictures with everyone.

If it is a busy period, make a ressie. (Don't try walk up the week between Christmas and NYE!!!!) You can call same day to see if something is open. I've called at 930am for a ressie at Cafe Orleans and gotten one for 950am.

Our DS's love Goofy's kitchen because of the character interaction and they love the food choices. I would also suggest PS that way you know you will be able to get in at the time you want. Have a great time!!!

The website says 3-9 are kids. Under 3 is free and 10 an dover are adult prices.
