Ignorant AP question
I need some help with an AP question. We have a trip coming up & I'm thinking about converting my ticket to an AP ticket. I live in Texas so it will have to be a deluxe. I'm not sure if this is what I want to do so I called to try & get some info from the good people at disney. The person I talked to didn't seem to know a lot about AP's. I told her that my biggest hang up right now was just being unsure if I would be able to make it back to the park with the year time & she told me that if I didn't that I could get my money back on the AP. That can't be right, can it? Thanks so much for the info.

No, I don't think so, b/c when you upgrade you will have used it, so you can't even tell them 'well I never used it'...maybe she was confused, thinking you were going to buy it online, but then maybe never activate it? 
We live in WA and knew that we would be going for at least one more day in the full year (my brother lives in Southern CA and we know we will visit him), and adding one day's admission to our September vacation tickets was MORE than buying the deluxe AP. So for us it was obvious what would be better, financially. But we already know that we're going again.
If you're not sure if you will...well, just do the math of your tickets for this trip, and figure out how likely you will be to go again...see if it would work for you. And remember the 10% discount on most food with the AP when thinking about the cost. But don't forget to check out blackout days...wouldn't be all that great to buy the deluxe, then realize your future trip would be during a blackout time!
