ToT Post-Run Party Meet [Midnight, Oct 27, Studios]

I was thinking it would be fun to have a meet in the post-run party for the TOT 13K! And what better way to do that then to get an elevator full of MousePadders?

The only thing is, I'm not sure what time we should shoot for. We don't want it to be too early, because people my still be running/walking - but we don't want people hanging around just waiting for the designated time to come, either.

    Anybody have any input/brilliant ideas?

How about meeting at midnight? That gives people about 2.5 hours to finish the course and get to the meeting spot. I'm shooting for a finish time of under 90 minutes.

I bought some things at Michaels to wear during the run (potentially). I will have to test them out next week. Anyone else stocking up on glow stuff?

Ah, crud - I didn't even think about glow stuff! Does that count as liquid to the TSA? If so, I'll have my sister pick up something since she is for-sure going to check a bag (I'm still hoping to fit it all in a roll-aboard!)

BUT, I did get some dry-weave/whatever 'sweat pants' last night. I went to Sports Authority, since I was near there with a different errand, and after digging through 2 overly full racks of pants - found 1 in my size (and they had the tags on the inside, so I had to dig to figure out what size any one pair of pants was!) - and they fit (mostly) - AND for some reason, just the one size was marked about 1/2 off! So I got some lightweight high-tech sweatpants for under $20+tax! I'm not sure if I'll need them for the race, but I wanted to be able to have something besides jeans to throw on after if it's a little chilly (and remember, I live in New Orleans, so anything much below 70 is a little chilly!)

See you there, Steph and Andrew (and Jen?). Anyone else want to fill an elevator?

Midnight is about the only time I would be able to make a meet since my sister and I will be travelling with our families on this trip.

I swore after my last trip that I was finished with ToT - but maybe after the race it won't matter that I'm terrified - I'll just be happy to be sitting down!!

I'm getting a little worried about starting a race at 9:30! Last night I could barely keep my eyes open to watch the baseball game - how am I going to run 8 miles after a day in the parks?? I guess we're all in the same boat! I'm really looking at this as a fun event - I'm not willing to cut any other vacation activities short just because there's a race in the middle of the weekend. We did plan to get a late start on Sunday morning, but that's also because we have MNSSHP on Sunday night.

    See you next week!

I'll be there. Why not meet in front of the TOT Fastpass Distribution Center?
