Christmas tree in your hotel room?
We are staying at the YC at Christmas. I wanted to possibly get a decorated Christmas tree in our hotel room (real or fake?) for the kids.....I understand the disney florist will do a 4' tall x-mas tree, decorated, with lights on it, and deliver it to the room....but this is pretty expensive. Have any of you done this before or have you used another service to accomplish the same thing? Thanks, Mark

I haven't done it myself, but I have seen pictures of it. I think it is pretty pricey, but if we had our kids along, I probably would flip for it anyway.
I've used the Disney Florists for other items and they were WONDERFUL. There's so much more than what's on the website. They customized something for me, and it wasn't expensive--I just wanted something I didn't see on the site.

Thanks Tina -
I am going to email the florist and ask for some specifics......but because it is my nealy adopted daughters first ever Christmas and my 9 year olds first Christmas at WDW, I thought it would be pretty cool thing to do... I am probably going do it, just wanted to know the options.
BTW - still using that other excel thing you sent me by the way, thx!

Yeah, Mark, with those lovies in tow, I would DEFINITELY have something in the room. I have heard of people bringing or shipping down stockings. Some people decorate the room window. Both of those would be alternatives if the tree is too expensive.
I hope you find the florists as helpful as I did. I wanted to get my parents some flowers while we were there (they were in the adjoining room). I didn't want to spend a fortune, but I wanted something that would last the 10 days we were there. Well, the CM was fabulous. She suggested this really cute Mickey planter with daisies. I think it was less than $35.
I also ordered balloons and a plushie Donald for my 3yo (at the time). We arrived on his b-day. I am allergic to latex, so I couldn't use "regular" balloons. They were great about noting, and only sending, mylar balloons. This was less than $20 (back in 05).
Glad to hear you're using my spreadsheet. I feel like a goober sometimes, but I love it. I'll write up a trip report when I get back and let you know how it worked out.
Best--T

The florist web site has a link to where there are two types of trees and a stocking.....the stockings come with a Mickey plush and are stuffed with goodies. I may do this as well. In fact I may get one for everyone just because. WDW concierge told me they would even ship the tree home after words (for a fee of course) so we'll see. Not sure about this but would definitely be keeping the decorations! For as much money as these trips cost, what's a little more to have a Christmas tree and goodies in the room?
Let me know how the trip goes, would be very interested.... Mark

HI Mark!
I've done both, but with Disney Vacation planning. There link is on the Disney website, I'm sorry I don't know how to add a link. But you send an email and they will send a price list of what they have. I ordered last year a tree, one stocking and four gift baskets. They were a little pricey but it was WORTH the look on their faces!!!!! The tree was way cute and they give you a box and stuffing to ship it out to your home once done with it. Lucky for us, we had a car so we just pack it some blankets. Hope that helps, just post again if you have questions. Have a great time, you'll love it there at Christmas!

Hi,
We shipped a small tree, lights for window, and a little nativity, for last years Christmas trip.
We used UPS ground- cost was only ten dolllars, we had extra suit case for goodies bought on trip and we were able to pack all of the above. We thought that we would not be able pack tree so we bought cheap.
Mouse keeper would turn window lights on for us after she cleaned, so we would come home to a glowing room!.

why not try and get a small second hand tree. ship it and leave it.

We ship a small tree, decorations, and all the Santa presents before we leave to arrive at the resort the day BEFORE we get there. I pick up the tree and we decorate it in the room. Then on Christmas Eve, after my DD is asleep I pick up the presents and on Christmas morning my DD thinks Santa arrived (I leave a note that says the big present is at home). Much cheaper than getting the tree from the florist and it's fun to decorate it ourselves. We usually buy a few ornaments to add to the tree while we are there.
