Well, not in the last 6 mos... but in March of 2005 It was recommended to us by some friends. It was totally fine... we haven't stayed there again because we prefer to be right across the street. We like our new Disney motel home, the Camelot.

I'd be happy to answer any specific questions. I don't think it's changed much.

    Thank you
Here are some questions: are the rooms roomy? we will be needing a suite but there is a few different ones do you know which ones are better?
Do only certain suites have a disneyland view for example just the bunkbed rooms etc?
can you see the fireworks from there?
If i think of anymore i will let you know
Thank you again for the info .

    Canada, eh

We stayed there in 2005 and had issues with bugs. Roaches and some type of wierd larvae type thing in our bed [shudder]. It was not cool. However, from others who have stayed here I have heard some good things. Perhaps our experience was just an anomoly, who knows. My advice would be that if you do stay here, be sure to request a recently renovated room.

We had a small suite. There were 2 queen beds-tv-dresser-standard room and then you stepped down into a sunken type living room area that had a pull-out couch-tv-small dining table w/4 chairs.

The bathroom was fine... but the vanity (sink/counter) is not outside the toilet/shower... it was all one room which is always harder with a family IMO.

Our room was clean. No issues there. The pool area was fine as well. The lobby is the most impressive part of this hotel. We only used the continental breakfast once because it was very out of the way... clear up on a top floor in a wing we weren't in. It was very crowded and not convenient to take back to your room either.

I'm not sure about views. The view you would get would be a Calif Adventure view. I requested a park view but got a brick wall.

Fireworks? There were no fireworks when we were there... but I don't think you could see fireworks from the rooms?? Maybe if you were on the top floors of a certain wing. You'd have to walk to the corner and watch from outside on the sidewalk (I think.)

We walked a lot... but then we also used the Timon tram some too. You can walk to the parking lot and take the tram.

There is a Quiznos in the hotel and a lounge of sorts, a small gift shop. It is nice that 7-11 is right next door and there's some restaurants across the street too.

There were other families staying there who spoke well of the bunk bed suites. Personally, I think there are roomier suites that are much closer to the park. That's a personal opinion.

For us to stay there again, I'd have to get a steal of a deal... which I did the first time on Expedia for this hotel. For our last 2 family trips (06 & 07) I thought the rates were high at the Desert Palms (Feb & Mar.)

*We did have a small refridge and microwave.

Thank you for the info . I like this hotel as it is a hotel instead of a motel , your door goes into the hallway not outside. also through getaway i can get 9 nights and a 6 day hopper for around 2000 dollars which i think is a good deal.
The couple across the street from disneyland look small from the pictures and this place looked roomier . But i am going to call desert inn and suites and find out what there rooms are through AAA and it might be a good deal.
    Thanks again
