Bats Day and power outage trip report (brief)

I'm not a heavy poster here on mousepad, but i do interject my2 cents occasionally. Today i finally broke down and renewed my AP for myself and my now 4yo daughter.

I completely forgot that Bat's day was scheduled for today. If I would have remembered, I would have done myself up a little more that my khakis and t shirt. Every year I keep telling myself I would like to participate, but then forget. (I am a former goth)(well, one does not ever stop being a goth, but rather just tone down with age and with a teaching job).

First off, Gorgeous day. A bit hot, but clear and not really crowded. (maybe everyone was in line for NEMO. It was posted at over 2 hours). My daughter set the pace for the day, so fantasyland was our first stop. less than 10 min wait for Dumbo, so we hit that. Next, was the Carousel and then off to see the "baby goats" as my daughter calls them, at BTR. I hadn't renewed our passes since they expired in April, so I hadn't seen Tom Sawey Island Redux, so we spent time there. we were going to have Mickey Mouse pancakes but then i remembered River Belle was closed. so we hit Pooh and waited for Hungry Bear to open. My daughter loves feeding the ducks. (I know that this is a sore spot for some people, but i feel these ducks are basically domesticated as well as ducks can be, and they have been fed at disneyland since DL first opened, and who am I to upset the status quo.) by this point, it was very hot, so we took a jaunt down to DCA to cool off in the sprinklers in A Bug's Land, rode the Sun wheel ( a 1st for my daughter). then got soaked again in the sprinklers and watched a showing of High School Musical 2 parade thingee. then back to DL. Rode Star Tours, (again a first for My Daughter) after she wanted to ride the Astro Orbiter, but it was down, so we tried Matterhorn, it was also down. We tried Alice, but it was down, as well as the Teacups. A CM informed me that the power loss was not limited to Dl but to the city of Anaheim in General. (Can anyone confirm this? Darkbeer? You seem to have all the info.) The Cm also said that IASM was also affected. POwer eventually cam back and we hit Alice, teacups and IASM before moving over to NOS and riding pirates and Tarzan treehouse. It was almost 9 by that time so we got hotdogs from Coca Cola Corner and headed out. (Is it just me or are those Chili dogs incredibly good?)

One thing I noticed as that California Goths are not like other goths, we do enjoy life and do not wallow in sorrow. How else can you explain all these people enjoying Disney, which would be the antithesis of all being goth stands for. In line for IASM there was a party of about 50 singing and having fun. I miss it terribly, but my job won't allow me to dress that way or maintain my skunk stripe in my hair the way i had it in my 20's. Oh well, let the new generation have fun with it. I do enjoy watching them, so did my daughter.

We too didn't realize it was Bat's Day, and we would have dressed up if we knew.

Today was super cool though, even though we didn't spend much time at the park. I'll post more in my own thread.

Finally got my PAP back! Disneyland everyday!

There was a brief power outage today that affected parts of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, as well as portions of Anaheim.

Some of the attractions on the east side of the park are connected to the city electricity and if there's a blackout near that portion of Anahiem.. unfortunately chances are something [99% of the time involving IASW] there will be affected.

[I didn't realize it was bat's day either until I showed up and thought something looked a little different ]
