Yep, Survivor China starts 9/20 -Also there's a rumor the next Survivor (Feb '08)will be another ALL Stars from the last 7 editions. That would be interesting ,I think, if true...
thanks guys!
I thought it was interesting that there are a couple of "minor" celebrities in this edition. WWE's Ashley Massaro, and professional poker player Jean-Robert Bellande (sp.?). Unilike Gary Hogeboom, I am guessing everyone will know this ahead of time, but who knows. Looking forward to it either way.

Oh - thanks, truth be told I don't remember the players for much longer after the show ends.
I actually liked gary and he put up a pretty good fight. Wasn't someone on that same season a sport's radio caster or something?
Ooh, it's like Nancy Drew and the Mystery of the Mid-Life Crisis."

Nope - it never ends.
I do believe she was the one that won that season too.
Reminder that Survivor: China starts tomorrow night!
There was a small blurb in EW last week. Apparently Jeff Probst agreed that last season was a bit of a snooze and that it was a mistake to give one tribe everything. His comments regarding this season were that it was very tough and that there were both villains and good guys left right to the end.

Seems like the last few seasons have gone down that way, where one tribe has everything and of course wins most of the challenges since they are more comfortable at camp and are eating more food. They also have been giving out more stuff then before too, usually it was just flint and steel, some fishing gear, maybe some pillows and blankets through out the season. Now it's more like here is a whole camp complete with shelter, toliet, and bed for the first challenge.
The CBS site for survior had/has a "Day in the life of Base Camp" video up showing Jeff Probst walking thru and talking with some of the departments who help make the show run. It was interesting to get a little peek at some of the behind the scenes stuff, no spoilers in the video unless you count seeing some of the names, and drawings for some of the possible challenges.
I saw Jeff on some morning show the other day and they showed a clip of the survivors getting to the beach, in the clothes they came in and no bags in site. When are they going to learn? Some of the girls looked like they were dressed nice and at least one is wearing heels!
Are they going to run full episodes on the Web site again, cause it seems like more often or not I miss it or forget to tape it.

I have not been a Survivor viewer before, but I want to catch this one. They are in Jiangxi Province, which is not a normal tourist area, but I have been there, because my younger daughter is from that province. We were only in Nanchang, the provincial capital, and I've been to the Teng Wang pavilion, one of the few areas for a tourist to visit. It was a big city, but so poor. I will never forget when they allowed us to visit a Social Welfare Institute (a combination orphanage and old age home), and we went into the infirmary where the sick babies were being treated. We all walked out in tears, because they had almost no medical equipment or supplies. Anyway, it will be interesting to remember our trip there.
From what I can recall, the contestants get tricked by the producers (at least in the earlier Pearl Islands season). They were told that they are going to media interviews/photo ops so they were all instructed to dress up nice and pretty. Then they're loaded up on the boat and sent off to the game. Pretty darn sneaky!

I think if I were ever to get on Survivor (which I won't since I have no desire to apply), I'd wear my swimsuit & sports bra under clothes whenever I had to do anything show-related -- just in case.

Not really a spoiler, but did anyone else notice on tonight's episode that they had to have filmed at least one scene out of sequence? The girl that wore her heels magically had on tennis shoes in the scene where they were discussing how to build their shelter and it was raining on them. However, it was not until later on in the show, after the challenge, that Jeff told them they could wear their sneakers back to camp. Ahh, gotta love bloopers.

I caught that too. I usually don't notice things like that but it seems like they had just shown her complaining about having heels on & there she was in sneaks.
The annoying blonde NY waitress needs to go now. I couldn't believe how rude she was during the ceremony in the temple. I'm sure she's the type who gets all of us the moniker "Ugly Americans."
The one who walked out during the ceremony needs to go as well. Would it have been so hard for her to silently pray to Jesus when she was in there so he'd know she didn't mean to betray him?I love how she claimed in one breath to not be very religious & that she has a personal relationship with Jesus.
Um... huh?
I thought PG was gonna go first -- not Chicken. I was hoping they wouldn't boot Ashley (the wrestler) right away. Yeah, she was sick -- but I'm sure she'll be contributing plenty to the physical challenges before too long.
James (the gravedigger) was mighty pleasant to look at without his shirt.

I think everyone living in NYC is probably cringing at what that waitress is saying. I know I am. She's not going to be around long unless her tribe never loses.
I thought SEVERAL of the guys looked great without their shirts! Also did I hear it right when they said Todd was a gay Mormon flight attendant? I nearly choked on my Diet Coke when I heard that! I think he's going to be an entertaining personality. I thought Peih Gee was gonna be the first voted off because she started to take charge a little too overbearingly, but it turns out Chicken's strategy didn't work too well. Looks like it's gonna be a great edition!
