How long will you be in town? If only a few days, getting a rental car might be cheaper then a limo or a shuttle for 4 people, even if you just leave it parked at your hotel.

You might want to check out this other recent thread: Long Beach Airport

Also, MouseSavers has a page with rental car discount information and codes. Here's a link. You might see if you can get a better deal.

Smile Transportation from Long Beach Airport

    Hi everyone!
I will be flying into Long Beach airport next month. Any ideas from those who have flown into LB on transportion to the Park or nearby hotels? Shuttle or taxi? Thanks in advance for any advice. I am planning on calling the hotel I'm staying at for info as well but sincerely appreciate any help. Thanks!!!

Yahoo! I am interested in the response to this question as well. I am thinking of flying Jet Blue and they only appear to fly to Long Beach. I don't want to rent a car, so I'd like to know the options. Thanks for asking!

A taxi from LGB is just $36 plus tip, a rate that LA County requires taxis to offer.

Now, on the way back, you are looking at more like $45 plus tip, since you are using Orange County taxis.

My preference, a rental car, use Hotwire.com to find some of the lower rates being offered, then a taxi.

The Disneyland Express does not service LGB.

I don't like the shuttle vans, as their is a good chance of being placed in a van with locals who want a ride home, and you get a scenic view of neighborhoods prior to getting to your hotel.

Thanks Darkbeer and Steph for the advice. I don't really want to get a rental car since I plan on being at DL 99.9% of the time I'm there. I am checking out the deals though. Thanks again!!!

    Where the heart is.

Tara, LB is our favorite airport to fly into when coming down to Disneyland. We have used the Shuttle vans several times and never had a problem. Maybe we lucked out, but they took us straight from the airport to our hotel and were reasonably priced. (you know me, I can remember how much - but if it had been ridiculous I would remember that)

This year I keep finding the best deals on airfare into LAX - ugh on that airport and the getting to DL from there. Not complaining though . . .

Okay, this is sorta related.... from John Wayne, would you take the Super shuttle or the Disneyland Bus? The SS is slightly less expensive and I can get airline miles. I will be staying at HoJo's if it matters!

Why do people go on The Amazing Race without bothering to learn how to drive a stick shift?

I prefer a taxi, it is about $40 plus tip each way, and is quick and wasy without waiting or any stops.

By yourself, either one works, so I would go with the shuttle.

When coming from LAX, I prefer the Disneyland Express for the comfort and no dropping off locals at their homes on the way to the DLR, which can happen with Shuttle Vans.
