My Dining Reservation Plans for October

Here is what I am looking at for meals this year:

This is only my 2nd time to WDW in recent years, and would be good to hear about some of these places (some I did last year, some are new to me).

I tried somewhat to go to some of the more expensive one table service credit meals as I am on the DDP.

1st Day: Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner
    2nd Day: Mama Melrose's
    3rd Day: 1900 Park Fare
    4th Day: Concourse Steakhouse
5th Day: No Table Service Meal (Have Keys to Kingdom tour in AM, includes lunch, and will do counter service for dinner, to save for breakfast in last morning)
    6th Day: Cap'n Jack's Restaurant
    7th Day: Le Cellier Steakhouse
    8th Day: Spoodles
9th Day: Cape May Caf Character Breakfast

    DLR - 02/01 off site
    WDW - 10/06 POR, 10/07 BCR, 12/08 POR, 9/09 BWR, 12/10 YCR, 12/11 BWR, 12/12 BWR, 10/13 BWR
DCL - 9/09 Eastern (Magic), 11/10 Western (Magic), 11/11 Bahamas (Dream), 8/12 Nowhere (Magic), 12/12 Eastern (Fantasy), 5/13 Caribbean (Wonder)

Hey! I'm going in October too! Here's my two cents on your selections--

1st Day: Liberty Tree Tavern Character Dinner
Love it. My personal favorite character dinner. Food is good; family-style; comfort food.

    2nd Day: Mama Melrose's
Ate here YEARS ago and liked it. I'm on DDP too and have this scheduled for this trip.

    3rd Day: 1900 Park Fare
Never done this one, but it has good reviews here on MP!

    4th Day: Concourse Steakhouse
Check on this one. Call them back. I just read on allearsnet.com that it is being moved. They're refurbing a lot of the concourse area. I don't know if the restaurant will be open in October--I've not eaten here and was GOING to this trip, but was worried about the move, so I booked Coral Reef instead.

5th Day: No Table Service Meal
We have two days where we have no TS meals. No biggie!

    6th Day: Cap'n Jack's Restaurant
    Never eaten here. Can't comment.

    7th Day: Le Cellier Steakhouse
Excellent! My favorite steak ever in WDW. The pretzel bread is to die for!

    8th Day: Spoodles
    Haven't tried yet.

9th Day: Cape May Caf Character Breakfast
Okeedokee! Should be just fine! You can hop right into Epcot after eating here as the Beach Club backs into the International Gateway entrance to Epcot.

Hope that helps! See ya around the World!

Working hard for that next WDW trip! December 2013

I've been Liberty Tree Tavern, Le Cellier Steakhouse, and Cape May Caf.

All the others are "new" to me. I don't think the move for Concourse is not until after we leave.

    I'll be there Oct. 13-22.

    125 long days away! LOL

1900 Park Fair for dinner is a Cinderella character meal. The place will be packed with little girls in princess outfits. If you have a member of your party in that demographic, it will be great. If not, be aware that it is far from an adult experience. I have two little princesses and it was almost too much for me. I wondered whether you have kids, because some of the meals are more adult-oriented, some more geared for families with kids.

No, no children. Still single, lol.

    Thanks for that info.

Any recommendations for other locations to replace it, that only count as 1 TS credit on the DDP?

Another one I was thinking of was San Angel Inn? Would that be a good replacement?

Why not take the monorail over to the Poly and check out the Kona Cafe? Supposed to be terrific--

Or Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It's a buffet and is one credit. You can take a bus from your afternoon park to get to the hotel. If you are returning to your hotel, you can get a cab, or if you are going back to a park, just grab a bus, if you don't have a car.

Some might really like the San Angel Inn. We thought the atmosphere was cool but the food was icky.

Of course, we're from Texas. Our Mexican food standards tend to run pretty high.

Took DH to WDW for his 1st time 11/01. Going back in 8/07 and then again in 12/08.
