Which is better to use at TL/BB? do they have any restrictions as to what can be worn on the slides?

Never tried water socks, I always wear Teva sandals and they work great. There are some things that I take them off for, like shark reef and some slides, I'm not sure on the official rules about which ones you may have to take them off for.
I was going to have us just use our Crocs, but someone said that they don't work very well because they float? Would that really make a difference? I mean, we all certainly weigh more than our shoes....
You are not alllowed to have anything with exposed metal on the slides.

But I live less than 20 miles from Walt Disney World! And work there part-time.

Personally, I love water socks. We've worn them at Typhoon Lagoon and the resort pools.

I'm taking water socks. They feel more secure on my feet than sandals. Boys are taking Tevas...
To DL or not to DL September 2010-that is the question....
The water socks work best in my opinion. The crocs do float and if they aren't secure on your feet you'll have to chase them down the lazy river.

We wear water shoes at both parks, cuz the walks between are far apart. At TL they don't allow them on the body slides. We had no problem with any at BB, since they are all tube or mats. (I don't go on the "big" slides, so I guess they don't allow them on the body slides there either.) I found the worst place on my feet was the "bobbing" pool at BB, the bottoms of my feet were all torn up afterwards. Because of the restrictions on metal, etc, I would guess that sandals would be a problem on the slides.
One time I went with sandals, once I went barefoot. I didn't try to take the sandals onto the slides with me, I just put them somewhere by the end of the slide. But I bought crappy little 5 dollars ones and wasn't worried about them disappearing.
Do they sell any kind of water shoes/sandals/socks at the parks?
A year ago, they had basic thongs/flipflops, the kind with the rubber strap, at MK's Emporium and some resort shops, and probably other places, too. They had Disney patterns on the insoles, and I'm thinking they were around $12.99.
At the Summer Sands store in DTD, they had Crocs and other name-brand sandals (maybe Rainbow, Reef, or both).

At Typhoon Lagoon in 2005 they sold Walt Disney World water socks, but the sizes available were limited.

I have been to the water parks 3 times and never worn water socks or sandals and was fine. I have pretty sensitive feet and was there durring the blistering heat of September too! The walkways are pretty shaded.
