Smells that should be bottled!
I saw this thread in the Disneyland section where people mentioned churros, outside Main Street' candy store, and POTC.
So what are your favorite WDW smells?
I remember the walk-through portion on WDW's POTC smelling stronger than and different from D.land's. It's kind of a stagnant water smell that I came to love because I associate it with that attraction.
Also, the humidity and thunder storms make the Florida air feel different than our smog--it seems to smell different too. I miss that, along with the coconut trees with trunks that look like they are covered in cement.

I don't know if its a smell, or just the humidity, or what, but I agree there is something about the early morning air @ WDW. When I get up before sunrise @ CBR & walk from our room, around the lake, to sit by the pool @ Old Port Royale & drink my morning coffee while watching the sun come up--that whole...fragrance...experience...feeling...is something I wish I could bottle.

hoping for less drama in life
This isn't a strictly WDW smell- but as a kid we always did a summer trip to an amusement park (usually Six Flags over wherever we were living at the time) so now whenever I catch the smell of hot asphalt I think... 'Mmmmm Summer Vacation is coming!' Really! And it's a good thing!

YES !!! ....
I thought I was the only one who noticed this, but you are exactly right. Every time I smell this it reminds me of the (now closed) Opryland theme park where I spent many summer days growing up (I think it also goes for recently "sealed" asphalt).

You know what makes me really sad? I didn't smell anything at Disney World. We went to see Mickey's Philharmagic--- after the show my mom was talking about how cool the smells were, and I didn't smell anything at all! Apparently the Stitch ride smells gross at one point too, but nothing. I wasn't even sick!

Fall Festivities
I like the smell when you first step outside the airport in Orlando. That humid, green, hot smell. It always reminds me of WDW.

Wandering lonely as a cloud...
I like the smell in the load area of Dinosaur and in the oil rig scene of Malestrom.
Oh, and that wonderful burning smell in Spaceship Earth.
And sometimes, the smell of diesel reminds me of WDW too.

Doesn't WDW have any great food aromas? The Disneyland thread was apparently dominated by foodies!

OK, OK. You want foodie smells? I love Germany's sauerkraut smell outside the CS venue (I forget the name---Sommerfest?) as well as the mouth-watering smells as you enter the Boulangerie Patisserie in France. Yum...croissants!

That's what I wanted: great food smells we don't have at Disneyland!
Any more?
And do they sell those delicious, but deadly churros at WDW?

Oh man! My husband says the SAME thing....in fact, I can thank at least one WDW vacation to the fact that he went into a mens room and the Chlorinated water sent him into a frenzy of WDW-ness
(yeah - welcome to my life!)

Oranges/Wintergreen at Soarin'
Weather Testing Smell at Test Track
Pecans/Almonds roasting
Waffle Cone smell at the end of mainstreet
And last but not least the smell of the Roses in Epcot at night, maybe its the atmosphere but the roses tend to smell much better at night
Ours is a time of unprecedented choice and opportunity, so let us explore and question and understand. Let us learn from our past and meet the challenges of the future, let us go forth and fulfill our destiny on Spaceship Earth.

My son LOVES that burning smell on Spaceship Earth. We once rode it six times in a row, just so he could get his fill!
There's something about the smell of Pirates and Haunted Mansion that appeal to me. I feel any stress disappear when I enter those rides and I "know" that I'm on vacation!
As for food, LOVE the smell of the roasted almonds and the sugar-high I get when I enter Main Street Confectionary! Pure Bliss!

Maybe it's the water...I love the smell of the Jungle Cruise. I also love the way the Mexico pavillion smells, especially when you walk inside on a really hot day.

You don't criticize something if you aren't concerned for its survival. If it really is that bad, then yes, you leave. But if you think it could be better than what it is now, you say so.

There's a certain hot smell that I like about Big Thunder Mountain, and the smell of both the Splash Mountain and POTC boarding areas are nice, too. My favorite smell has to be the lobby of the Grand Floridian, though. Probably just some industrial cleaner on the floors, but MAN I love it. It just screams "I'm once again at my happy place" to me.

All the smells that everyone mentioned already, I like them all and they all say WDW to me! I also like the fake cinnamon roll smell outside the Main St Plaza Ice cream parlor. It smells soooo good on the sidewalk, but no smell inside!
The sugar high smell is ten times greater at Goofy's Candy Co in Downtown Disney Marketplace, than it is at the Confectionary. I always say you could go into a diabetic coma just from the smell in there!
Mmm, and I love the orange smell on Soarin. I call that ride my aromatherapy ride. I am always so relaxed when it's over.

I with other people on that it's not a specific smell but just something you remember. We stayed at Pop and I'm an early riser. I would wake up early and walk to the cafe to get a cup of coffee and then just walk around the resort in the morning. The smell of the brisk fresh morning air was so peaceful and just put a smile on my face. What a great way to start the day.

Orlando/Disney Water
I dont know if it is a smell I exactly want bottled as its not all that pleasant but the smell of the Orlando water always gives me a smile. Yes I know its kind of sulfury and gross, but whenever I smell it I know exactly where I am. If you havnt noticed it (which I dont know how you missed it) next time you're on Splash Mountain take a deep whiff you'll never forget it.
