    Caribbean Beach Resort?

Does anyone know if you can walk to EPCOT and/or the Boardwalk area from the Caribbean Beach Resort? If not, what are the transportation options, bus or water craft?

carribean beach is sometimes listed as an Epcot area resort, but it really isn't. It is prettymuch close to nothing... busses are only transport. There is the beach and yacht club in epcot area - perhaps you were thinking of that? Otherwise - we just stayed at Carribean Beach and it is NOT with the grouping one traditionaly thinks of as Epcot area

Actually CBR is very convenient to Epcot & Studios. None of the moderate resorts are within "walking distance" of any of the parks. But the bus rides from CBR to Epcot &/or Studios are very quick. In fact, of all the moderate resorts, CBR is the most convenient (total travel time-wise) to all the major parks.

We've never had any problem w/bus service from CBR. It may take a minute or two longer than driving ourselves, but the reduction in hassles from not having to deal with traffic, directions, parking, parking lot trams, etc. more than makes up for it in my opinion.

I'm not sure I agree with this, Greg. Yes, CBR is pretty well centrally located. But the Port Orleans Resorts are also just about as convenient - a bit closer to some parks, a bit farther away from others, but still pretty central.

But then I've said many times that distances within WDW can get greatly exaggerated. I think people can get really hung up on what's closer to what. We're not talking about huge distances here - the difference between a close resort and a distant one is maybe 10-15 minutes at most. So I think it's much more a matter of what theming floats yer boat.

Well, based on the Transportation Wizard on OurLaughingPlace.com, total transportation time (via the best transportation alternative available) from CBR to the 4 main parks is 62 mins, from CS it's 64 mins, from POR it's 83 mins, & from POFQ it's 99 mins.

Is that enough difference to make someone choose CBR if their absolute perfect, ideal vacation destination is the French Qtr of New Orleans ?? Prob'ly not. It's like you said, the atmosphere &/or theming will most likely be of primary consideration. But interesting info anyway.

That's an interesting calculation, when taken as a whole. But when you break it down, it's only a very few minutes for each individual trip. (I like that trip calculator - I hadn't seen that before.) Nice to see we're in agreement about the theming. I've seen people freaking out because the only resort they could get was [insert resort here], and it was too far away from where they wanted to be. On Disney property, NO place is too far away from anywhere else!

The only time you're too far away, is when you're NOT THERE !!!!
