    Disney Wedding Question

Has anyone had a wedding at DL? I am looking into it and would love to have one...

I am looking at the site but just curious if anyone has any firsthand knowledge.

There appeared to be a wedding party on board the Columbia this afternoon. It looked from a distance like they were performing a ceremony up near the bow.

    Hmm, that's pretty cool.

I would love to have the ceremony in the park but I imagine it would be pretty expensive.

About a year ago, the starting price for an in the park wedding for 50 guests was $50,000.

    Planning 3 trips at once...

We don't have a whole lot of guests. I know they have minimums...hmmmm, I think I might give them a call today.

Does anyone on here know if it is worth it? It seems pretty magical to me...

You should do a search on this board about this. I remember a year or two back reading how a few people had their weddings in the park. Not with Disney's blessing or anything. On their own they did this. But they arrived with their guests and had their own ceremony in the park with friends/family. I don't think they wore the whole wedding dress & tux outfits, but it was a marriage in Disneyland. And afterwards they had dinner or lunch somewhere in the park or at one of the hotels. I read 2 stories on here on how they made it happened and did not get stopped by anyone. I think one was on the Mark Twain and the other was by the castle (wishing well area). If I find the story I will post the link for you!

Find joy in the journey and take lots of photos along the way!!

If you visit this site they have more info on packages and such.
Forget a dream fastpass... they should give away a free fairy tale wedding!

I tried doing a search and did not come up with a whole lot of information...I will look again...

I have checked out every facet of the Disneyland wedding page and am just looking here for any firsthand knowledge from someone who is not trying to sell me something.

Though I must say, with our love of Disneyland, I don't see how a wedding there would be anything less than magical.

Are you looking to have them do it? Or just someway to do it in the park? My understanding from someone who used teh wedding planning there, they were incredible. They took care of everything. The people who used it thought it was the greatest. (I was invited but couldn't go.) The $50,000 is the minimum for inside the park, and allows you UP TO 50 guests.

Well first, I don't want to put the cart before the horse. I have not asked her yet, although we constantly talk about it, right now it is just a matter of getting the right ring.

I would like them to take care of most of it...only using outside vendors for a few cost saving items.

I probably will not have more than 50 guests.

try a google search on disneyland weddings..

i remember when we were planning ours we were just checking out anything we thought would be cool..

obviously for us it was way too hard and way too expensive for us to have it anywhere at disneyland resort... but i found some sites of people who had done theirs there and hate stories and photos..

if disneyland is too expensive for the wedding you could always try a disney themed wedding.. this is what we had to opt for until we discovered that no one in australia stocked anything remotly disney related to weddings and no one from US would send it outside of the US..

we didnt end up getting married. we decided to spend our money on coming back to disneyland

Most of the Disneyland weddings actually take place at either the GC or DLH. Very few take place in the park. If you wanted to get married in front of the castle, they only allow them to take place when the park is closed. So, you are looking at getting married mid week in the middle of the night! There is a small grassy area near the castle (if facing castle its to the left, near the carnation garden area), I know that they do use it for weddings, but I'm not sure if those need to be after hours or not. Its worth a call to wedding planning to find out.

Regarding the in-park wedding, I don't mind the time of day. It would be fun. But what will be difficult is the cost.

As far ast the grassy area, I had heard that is reserved for Japanese nationals.

My husband took the Walk in Walts tour in March. The guide pointed it out and said that is where they sometimes host weddings. I dont recall any mention of Japanese nationals, but that doesnt mean much. LOL

I have only read that on these boards. I will check with the Disney people when I get to that point.

Actually, the rule had been no weddings during park hours, except for Japanese nationals (something to do with park agreements.) They set this area up to handle this issue I believe. I am interested in the wedding on the Columbia, if that was a sanctioned wedding or something after the fact (they do weddings at the hotel and then you can do pics in the park. These are MUCH cheaper.)

My wife and I were married at the Disneyland Hotel in April. Disney was GREAT !!! about working within our budget. You did not have to commit to any certain amount, they explained what you could get and for what price and we custom built our wedding ceremony. Of course, we would have liked to have been married in the park itself but the cost and the hours of which they hold the weddings are not for everyone (especially since you have to wait until after the park closes)

We were married at the Rose Court Garden of the Disneyland Hotel and could not have asked for a more perfect evening.

I cannot stress enough how great Disney was with working with us and having everything perfect for our special night.

    Here are some photos.

If you have specific questions, feel free to ask.

    Happy Holidays and Good Luck!

We are trying to figure out all of the people to invite...is there a different price per plate for children than adults?

    We are from Sacramento.
